OCRS Makes Final 2009 Appearance At Mid-America Saturday
Tulsa, Oklahoma (October 13, 2009)
The Oil Capital Racing Series sprint cars make their fourth final 2009 appearance at the 3/8 mile, semi banked clay oval at the Mid-America Speedway this Saturday night. After 14 events to date, the OCRS sprint cars have competed at 6 of the 7 tracks on their 2009 racing schedule. Of those 14 events, there have been eight occasions where a new winner for the season visited victory lane in OCRS action. There has not been a repeat winner at Mid-America in the three previous races.
Evan Sewell took the OCRS season opener on May 9th. Matt Sherrell took the 4th of July Firecracker event and on September 26, current point leader and defending champion, Jamie Passmore, broke through for his first victory of the year. Passmore is being challenged for the 2009 championship trophy by last weeks winner, Danny Smith. Only 66 points separate the two combatants for the OCRS title. Rafe Essary sits just 32 markers behind Smith while Sherrell is only 22 points back of Essary for third place. Jonathan Beason rounds out the top five in OCRS points.
Sprint car racing is an affordable family entertainment outing that the entire family can all enjoy. OCRS would like to extend an invitation to everyone to come witness some of the best sprint car racing the region has to offer.
Mid-America Speedway is located just 2 miles south of the Oklahoma / Kansas state line just off Hwy 169 (1/2 mile west on Road EW-02). Track Phone: (918) 829-8490
