Just read this on another board that I-44 cancelled their races on Saturday because of rain.

The post stated that Kirk Berkley mentioned that there would be a make-up date in the future.

You need to find another track for Saturday night Cody!

yeah - smart move on Berkley's part - looks like its gonna be a gullywasher this weekend.

More and more - I think I will do the unimaginable, and not plan to attend any races this weekend. Every weather report I've seen says it's 60-80% chance of rain. and it's already falling in abundant amounts over several areas.

I guess I could thinly plan to go to Ada, but at the same time - they are even closer to this tropical low than anywhere else, although that may be a good thing. Pits aside - 4 inches of rain on that track could make for a sufficient racing surface - so we won't see 1 pass in a 25 lap rubber down feature and I wont leave there looking like Bin Laden after his daily afternoon sandstorm picnic. Actually that would be funny. Seeing as everytime I have been there I left lookin like an A-RAB.

Maybe some track around here could sneak one in - maybe like Lawton or Elk City.

But I think it would be prudent to just plan to go to Emerson Biggins and watch the USC vs. Ohio State game. If it comes even close to what the educated students of the sky predict.....there wont be many races around these parts this weekend....

I am looking at going to the MARS late model show at Fort Smith and Ada as a backup BUT as Cody says, it looks as though this is going to be a gully-washer of a weekend.

Bet Danny Jennings is glad the end of the season races were last weekend and not this weekend aye?

damn skippy David, you hit the nail on the head there for Danny Boy lol.

David you got a great plan worked out there for this weekend. That could work out well - as you could be on your way to Tri State and if it cancels turn around and clip south to Ada. Although I fear weather could get in the way, forecasts are never definite - and indeed you may sneak in some dirt slingin' yet. I think overnight saturations could tell the final tale, as some pits will get it tonight - and some likely won't.

Myself, there really isn't anything outside of I-44 I wanted to attend....so I think tomorrow will just be a football day. Besides, whereas this weather cancels races and that sucks - I still like it. I like the cool overcast rain events. it's great weather for sleeping/resting and watching some good College/Pro Football as well as one of my new favorite sports.....tennis (US OPEN). I've enjoyed watching US OPEN the last 2 weeks.....and i enjoy playing it too. we have nice courts here in el reno with lights and everything - if we can get a spell where it dries out enough....I think I'll go knock a few off the wall....work off the pounds I added last week in Texas (the food is GRRRRREAT! down there lol). ok nuff' of this I'm rambling. It's the weather's fault! lol.

I would say - those eastern plans are logistically sound - but if cancellations happen early enough - Go West Sir. I think they could dodge much of the predicted monsoon - or at least not get as much as the east. If the pits at Lawton and Elk can avoid the over saturation during the overnight hours - it will greatly increase their chances of gettin' it in. I hope the weekend is not a complete washout for race fans...I hope some tracks get to run.

Who knows - I may get in the mood and make a trip to Lawton or even NE to Creek or Port. I kind of doubt it.....but one never knows. The word of this weekend is definitely - MOBILITY! lol.

Lawton's regular season is over until October 2 & 3 for winter nationals.

You could always get the pay for view for OU and Idaho State! lol

I-44 will make up tomorrow night's rain out on October 3rd.  They are also making up a rainout from May the night before on October 2nd, making a two race weekend.

Check the website schedule as they have also added another two day event (with a Thursday practice night) at the end of October calling it the first ever Winternationals.  So, outside of next weekend the 19th (normal Saturday only) and OU/Texas weekend on October 17th, we're racing Friday/Saturday for the next month and a half.

All that racing packed in to so few weeks will be a challenge for this old monkey!  It was all I could do to diagnose and change a bad clutch this week.
