PRACTICE THIS FRIDAY! (not mandatory)

Wouldn't be a bad idea though!

Followed by Time Trials (not mandatory) -- only 4 cars lock in, top 2 get the front row.

Minimum of 16 spots still up for grabs on Saturday for all cars who draw in that night! Other than what I mentioned above, there is no qualifying advantage to being there Friday night other than getting those valuable practice laps in....

OK - $30 pit pass, NO entry fees

Mods - $1000-500-300-240-200-180-160-140-120-100 to start, paying minimum of 22 spots. if 3rd & 4th fast times from Friday don't otherwise qualify, they will be added in 23rd & 24th starting spots.

Limited Mods/Super Stocks/Factory Stocks - $600-300-200-180-160-140-120-100-80-60 to start. Paying minimum 22 spots, same deal for 3rd and 4th fastest times as Mods.

* IF a Limited Modified wins using the track's used asphalt pull-offs (they sell for $30), it pays $2000! ($1400 bonus!)

Grandstand $15, under 10, FREE. Friday pit pass is $15. Grandstand will be closed.

If you can't make it Friday, no problem. A-Main starting positions 3 through 22 -- 20 spots in all -- will be available in all classes and everyone has an equal shot at them on Saturday. Draw for heat race positions and you CAN PASS at Ark-La-Tex!

Haughton, Louisiana's Koty Adams is going to be a busy young man this weekend! Coming off a top ten run in his first ever ride in Ed Sewell's Winged Modified at the Texas vs. Louisiana Shootout race at Ark-La-Tex last Saturday, the 20-year old racer loads up his 360 Sprint and heads south to Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas for an ASCS Gulf South Region race on Friday night. When that's over, he'll turn around and head back home, swap the 360 for his Racesaver 305 Sprint Car and head out to Ark-La-Tex Speedway -- the site of his first Sprint Car win when the Southern Thunder Sprints made their last appearance in Vivian!

Austin Mundie won the last STS show at Texas DIRT in Tyler on the 4th of July. Marty Stanford and Josh Hawkins were 2nd and 3rd. Former Modified racer Brian Holland has 2 wins with STS this year and another one, Dereck Weaver has one win. Hawkins also scored a win down at Gator Motorplex earlier in the season.

Come watch the STS Sprint Cars fly around the racing-est 1/4 mile dirt track in the south THIS SATURDAY NIGHT!!! They'll be joined by a $1000 to win Open Wheel Modified show, $600 to win Limited Modifieds as well as Factory Stocks, Hot Stocks & Cruisers. NO entry fees in any class!

The track got some much needed rain last night (Thursday) but the forecast looks great for the rest of the weekend and get this -- instead of 100 degrees like it's been all week -- low 90s instead and lower humidities by Saturday! Woohoo!!!
