MDLMS Ready to Kick off 2009 Season at Caney Valley Speedway on April 25
by Dusty Wiegert

RAMONA, Kan. -- The 2009 season started out with a rainout for the MidwestDirt Late Model Series but with that behind them the inaugural campaign of the series looks to get underway this Saturday night April 25 at the Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kansas.

The original season opener back on April 4 was a wash but the forecast looks much more promising this time around. Promoter Kerry Gorby expects the track to be in top shape as the wedge bodied gladiators grace the 1/4 mile for the first time in 2009.

Several drivers have committed to running a majority of the series, which will run 10 more races at the track throughout the season. Included in those entries are Caney's Gary Gorby and Valley Center's Jimmy Segraves, both of which picked up wins last season in special appearances.

Pit and grandstand gates are scheduled to open at 4PM with hot laps at 6PM and racing at 7PM.

As part of the MidwestDirt Late Model Series' commitments to their fans there will be several opportunities for autographs and giveaways during the evening along with a 25 lap main event.

Late Model drivers are encouraged to arrive at the track as early as possible to be teched in and registered for the season as well.
