SFS made the Hoosier 500 tire the spec tire for the sport mods, but not allowing it for modifieds. I don't understand why it is allowed (spec'ed) on one class and not allowed in another. Can anyone think of a reason?
BMS is allowing the Hoosier IMCA G-60, American Racer KK-704, AND the Hoosier 500 (and American Racer 500).
SFS rules also state on page 5 line E "No coil-over shocks allowed on the front or rear."
Why are coil overs not allowed on the rear? Rear coil overs are a common item that actually reduce the cost by not requiring the use of a separate coil over eliminator.
The big catch-all that a lot of tracks use is "If the rules don't say you can, you can't". But I havn't seen anything in the rules stating YOU CAN put AIR in your TIRES.
What's next?
I don't know if I really have a point.... But you wouldn't you think tracks within short driving distance to each other would have common rules? Isn't that what "USA" modifieds is supposed to be about? Oh wait, those are only at Lanny Edwards tracks. UNLESS...... We're talking about the O'Reilly USA Modified Series http://www.usamodifieds.com/ . But after looking at the website, I'm pretty sure that's not the same deal. I wonder if there's any copyright or name infringement going on there.....
