I assume there are no changes at SFS this year in terms of classes, etc. If the number of Pro Stocks is remaining the same, and since that number only adds three races per night, does any one know if there has been any thought given to starting at 7 p.m., and running all five classes each week?

Your beating a dead horse here mossman. it won't happen. Lanny has to have his little intermission so he can sell hot dogs at the same price you can buy three packages at the store for. Not enough time to race five classes.

I know. But I would bet you that you could start the races at seven, run all five classes, and still have time for an intermission. There are only three pro stock races. I'm not dogging that class - I enjoy it, but they don't eat up much time. Others would probably disagree, but I'd pay another buck to see all five. Between that and the extra pit pass money wouldn't there be enough for the purse?
Just seems like I drove out of the track several times last season at 10:30ish. I don't mind getting back home a little earlier, but would rather watch racing for another half hour, and we rarely threatened the curfew. There were at least a few times, even with a 7:30 p.m., start, that we would have had time for all five.
OK, I'll give it up. Just thought I'd run it up the flag pole one more time. I get no 410 or wingless sprints, is it too much to ask for all five classes?

Hey 5CAN, glad to see you back on the forum!! From what I have heard, there won't be as many Pro's or Factories as in years past anyway. But don't hold me to that! I do know for sure that my #32 F/S won't be there. Hope you enjoy the season!

Flash -- I hope you're wrong about that car count, but if you're right, then it would be all the more reason to run them all each Friday night. I wonder how many car-owners would be in favor of running every week. Obviously it would drive up expenses on the cars. Any chance the 32 comes back later?

Kenny, I am in the process of converting it over to a Street stock. I'll be running on a part-time basis again this year, going to Ada & Enid a little bit. Having some small problems (like coming up with some extra cash) just trying to get things ready! I'm not too far from having enuff stuff to put the motor together but lacking a few things.
So I'd say the #32 f/s won't be run by me at SFS! The new number of 32G will be on my s/s!

Still haven't talked anyone around here into funneling some of these OU FB dollars into individual sponsorships for dirt track cars. I'll keep trying. Other than keeping the head coach around, I can't think of a better use for the money.

I'm an OU student and would definitely like some sponsorship money. Us college kids dont have alot of money to be putting into race cars.

2 votes to none, we win. I've got an idea, how about we bring mini stocks in and make it six classes a night!

trust me 5CAN......Flash is right. For we reasons we are all aware of. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
I still have the same question. If the pro's get down to around 10 a few weeks intot he season......does Lanny allow them to run the rest of the year? or will he junk em right then and there? And if even then what would he replace them with?
It was said by a buddy of mine to no be too suprised to see limited mods. He's already added them at Devil's Bowl. I don't mind limited stuff 305's or mods. It's necessary b/c of all the idiots who don't care whether they run 70% of the drivers of a certain car class out. But as I've said and others....if he knocked the factories back down to what they should be and then opened up the motor rule on the pro stocks.......wouldn't that damn near solve the problem and still keep 5 great, fast classes at SFS?
But I don't think Lanny would do this b/c he knows the majority of the crowd is there to see the sprints....If 3K people show no matter what b/c the sprint racing stays good.......while his stock car counts (outside of mods) fall to the low teens......in the end he's probably gonna make a lil more money. Well I don't know actually. I imagine he would gain more in the pit passes than he would lose in purse ----as far as factories go anyways.
You never know with that silly little fat man........hopefully he's as clever as everybody always said he was.

I don't want to see a lot of new cut-rate classes, but if there is another solid one out there, I'd be fine with it. Too many tracks are now running stuff that is fresh off the junk heap and I have no desire to watch that kind of "racing." I appreciate the high level we've maintained at SFS. It's too bad the car counts may drop. If that trend becomes particularly disturbing, hopefully it will force everyone to work together to remedy the problem rather than resorting to classes that rate a cut or two above the backyard go-cart.

There will be 6 or 7 new supers this year Kenny. I'm sure there will be new mods, and I don't know about champ sprints, but there are usually some new champs each season. By my reasoning 3 of the 5 classes will gain in cars.

Only thing that sounds better to these ears is "Touchdown Oklahoma." No, wait a minute. It's a dead heat.
