It's apparent that the NCRA is wanting to help with 3 different series next year in OK {Mods, Limited Mods and Sprints}. But have yet to hear from any Promoters on if they are going to help this series get started. From past threads I know that WSS, Ardmore, Elk City, Enid, Meeker, Creek and other tracks view this web site but yet to hear from any track that they are even entertaining this idea. If there are some concerns on the Promoters side please voice your opinion so maybe these issues can be resolved. Because without some of these tracks willing to try something "new and exciting" I'm afraid this will go down the tubes!

If they are starting a so called 'new region series', to do it right they will (should) have only 3 or 4 races next in each of the series. Tracks should get some big time deals seeing that the Ncra is going to sell each series to a major sponsor.

Perhaps someone from the NCRA should contact the promoters personally and pitch it to them.

Sometimes you have to know what is actually going on as far as scheduling is concerned. NCRA just doesn't schedule and announce dates until dates have been agreed upon and contracts have been signed by both promoters and NCRA.
We are in the process of taking care of things and already have several promoters who are going to take dates for both modified and southern sportmod divisions. There are four tracks committed to the southern sportmod divisions while we have three or four as far as the modified division is concerned. We are starting now to go to the Eastern side of the state where the more expensive aluminum blocks rule weekly racing. However, one promoter sounded interested in more details when I called him last week. There are three promoters we have yet to contact out east.
But even while we have commitments from tracks for both divisions, it still doesn't hurt for you race fans and drivers to contact thsoe tracks as well as there is tons of interest in this new division. The NCRA southern sportmods are going to be huge as drivers locally as well as Enid and Elk City are doing nothing but talking about this. Even here drivers from Amarillo showing plans on competing.
Modified drivers such as Shawn Jorski, Jeff Autry, Kyle Sweeney and C.A. Nix have already indicated their intentions to run the deal (Ole Shawn almost can't calm down enough) while Tony Anderson, Alan Oliva, Jeff Autry, both Gemmills, Travis Penrod and several others have indicated that they will run most (if not all) of the shows.
But again it doesn't hurt for you all to contact your track promoters and let them know what is going on and that your interested in competing at them or watching at them. Again there more than likely not be more than twelve races per division as it is for those drivers who want to travel to other tracks but not do it every single weekend. Remember, NCRA is for the working man who wants to race on the weekends, not so much for a living.
Also keep in mind there point fund is at least $5000. When/if we obtain presenting sponsors then that will probably rise so if your interested in climbing aboard, please email me for the information.
Until then, my time here at the MWC library is short, off to other sites!!

cool stuff.
i figured Enid and Ardmore would run some shows. cant wait to see what other tracks do that too. i really hope meeker does something this year. have some sort of special. as it is they dont ever have any. and the NCRA deals might be affordable and potentially low risk. i dunno. just like to see something. hey creek might be cool for the 305's. not sure i would put mods there - as for mods that track is more of a battlefield/demo derby than anything else (or so it seems).
i dont have all the questions bobcat does lol. my only question is .......... will they try to run shows together most of the time? i mean - would they run NCRA sports mods primarily with NCRA mod shows? and maybe do the same with the sprints too? i think it would be cool if they found an off weekend of the URSS - and ran all the NCRA classes at Enid that weekend.......that could really be cool. although i know you cant base everything you do off what another series does. so maybe it could just work out that way or something. btw dont answer any of these things lol - I'm content to just speculate and wait and see - lol thats half the fun.
this is pretty cool stuff though. with all the updates David gives about different details - and willingness to address concerns and field questions - especially on this forum - it gives the sense of watching a series form/get started and up and running ------- right before your eyes. from this fans perspective - thats pretty dang cool.

Unfortunatly the cost of the purse would be prohibitive to running more than 1 series at a time. The track would have to have people hanging off the stands or charge a large ticket price. Either way is a huge risk for a track to take.

It's good to hear that 3 or 4 tracks have shown intrest, NCRA runs 81 speedway 2 or 3 times. It dosent really take more than that to get the cars rolling. On any givin nite as a fan fan I wouldnt mind paying 2 or 3 $ more for the show {normal attendance 1000 = $3000 for the purse}, SFS charges a considerable amount more for their ASCS and the Mods can put on just as good of a show...................Thanks for the update David!
