The page that Galen is speaking about is my "tidbits from the past" page, which can be found on the table of contents page of this website.

Man I have been looking for a pic of that car FOREVER. That was after he flipped all the way down the front stretch and ended up going to the hospital for half a week. Amazingly he didn't even miss a race with the help of the rest of the family. Oh the good ol' days.

On the same note my buddy let me borrow an old video of the half mile in 94 and man did it bring back some memories.

Well then why don't we post who is who and what is what then we will all know who the barstool drivers and mutt ulgy drivers are? The driver of the mutt ugly car that is. Looks like a cross between Gilliam's hood, just can't tell on the other parts but could qualify to that of Johnny Cash's "One Piece at a Time" song.

Actually the hood looks like one of Charlie lakes hoods. The barstool leading is Rapid Ray Crews. Can't help on the others. Could have been taken at one of the Scotty Adams Benefit parties. I think they quit because someone got hurt by a barstool going into the crowd. AHH the good ole days.

Oh that might help. It's dad. The wings are Dan's, the hood is either his or Danny Wood's (they both drove it around the same time I believe, could be wrong though.) I think the guy in last in the bar stool pic is Mike Gossman, not because it looks like him but because he's in last.

David - I am worried about your memory? That car belonged to Bruce Jennings -after a horrific crash on the front stretch of the half mile, Bruce Holtz called the ME, the jaws of life were called for extraction. Afer losing a weeks worth of memory (had 1 Friday off), Bruce and the family put this car together that won the Championship. May sound strange, but we stood together as we always do!

I was anti-Bruce Holtz back then and only traveled to races around the region every weekend back then. I remember reading about that accident and it upset me as I have known Bruce and the rest of your family since 1984.

As far as my memory fading.....

That barstool race is at the Scottie Adams benefit around 1994. The ORA Swapmeet/auction was held in the morning, then the party at night in a hangar at Downtown Airpark. Karaoke, beer, and barstool racing....oh, the humanity! Now even the airport is gone.

The car is indeed Bruce Jennings' fixer-upper. I vaguely remember the chassis had been retired to the back yard and was brought back after that crash, which might have set an altitude record that wasn't broken until Danny's flyer in the trophy dash a few years later. It may have been ugly, but it sort of "raced itself pretty" the rest of the year. Wonder if it isn't the one he's STILL driving? :)

Haha, No it's not Galen. I think I ruined that one when I flipped down the back stretch on the 3/8ths. I would probably still be running it if I hadn't ruined it though.
