SMRS RESULTS AUGUST 14,15, AND 16.


On a Thursday that looked like it would be time to practice driving in the rain, the SMRS started its three day run in Oklahoma. 23 Midgets showed up at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa Ok. After several cautions and a couple of reds, the Feature went non stop the last 12 laps. Dustin Morgan jumped out to the lead but was pressured by Donnie Ray Crawford, Jonathan Beason, Cody Brewer, and Rick England. As the race progressed, all at once 3 time SMRS Champion Joe Boyles was running 4th on the bottom and moving up. Joe found something on the bottom that was his secret and on his first time out on the road solo with the black 7 he took the lead from Morgan on lap 14 and won by a comfortable margin. Congrats Joe. With the threat of rain still looming, the car count would be affected for the next two nights. 15 car fields made for great features. At Coffeyville on Friday, the track was super fast and smooth. Owner/Promoter Jason Foster had this place right. Chad McDaniel took off from his front row outside starting slot and never looked back. He was very fast and smooth and it gave him his first SMRS Feature victory. Donnie Ray Crawford, Jonathan Beason were tracking Chad but they could not close on the Concordia Ks. Driver. Finishing 4th was what may be the beginning of a new star coming to the Southwest. Young Evan Pardo from Texas took the 54E to a great finish and looked very smooth doing it. Night three and it is a dusty, rough, and dark 3/8 that actually held up pretty well. On this night, it was a war between Rafe Essery in DeWayne McMurtreys 93C, Cody Brewer and Jonathan Beason. It was Beasons night after several lead changes between all three drivers. All in all, it was a fun 3days and now it is off to I-70 for the labor Day Weekend show that is always fun. Congratulations to all three winners, Joe Boyles, Chad McDaniel, and Jonathan Beason.
