410s (21 Cars)
Welcome Mat Billy Alley, Brooke Tatnell & Matt Wasmund sign in the back gate.
MIA The whole Jeffrey clan missing, Ryan Bickett, Clint Garner still without a 410 motor.
VIP No Wertz tonight but he was shocked to find that "The Doc" was there especially since he was without a Wertz Designs logo to be found. BT24, and the elders are back to fill up the turn 4 VIP.
Time Trials (1 lap each) Justin Henderson (13th out) sets quick time at 10.778 at an average speed of 125.250 MPH. The next 4 were separated by .039 seconds with Alley 2nd, Mark Dobmeier 3rd, Johnn Cressman 4th and Scott Winters 5th. The rest of the top 18 making the heat invert: Gary DeWall, Wade Nygaard, John Lambertz, Jake Peters, Gregg Bakker, Chad Meyer, Matt Wasmund, Micah Schliemann, Brooke Tatnell, Marlon Jones, Gordy Vogelaar, Dusty Ballenger, and John Miller

Heat 1 Notes: Schliemann checks out with slick turns over in 3 and 4. Henderson worked his way up to 3rd, while Vogelaar faded with a not-so-tacky track. The heat win was Schliemann's 3rd so far this year.

Heat 2 Notes: Tatnell leaves everyone in the dust again for his 4th heat win in just his 5th appearance this year. Winters and Alley got jumbled up behind the rest of the field and tracked the rest down for the invert, but Alley just came up short on the last lap. The "Combine" did a nice job to hold onto 2nd.

Heat 3 Finish: 57x 13 16 4w/ 101 9M (DNF) 24M (DNF)
Heat 3 Notes: Peters took the lead on the 2nd lap while on lap 3, the 9M spun out in turn 3 with the slick surface with the 24M having nowhere to go but into the side of him. Both would retire for the event. Dobmeier got up to 2nd after the restart but couldn't run down The Snake, as that was his 1st heat win of the year.
Heat Grades: A-; pretty good track to pass on already in the heats, atleast compared to the recent past and the narrow tracks we've had.
B Feature (Top 2 Tag the A, 8 Laps) Starting Order: No B Feature has all 21 cars got the free pass to the A.
B Feature Grade: N/A.

Initial start was splendid with Winters taking the point on the high side with rubber starting to be laid right up against the wall. Henderson and Dobmeier were right there in tow with Peters joining the 4-some soon after. A whole lot of maneuvering going on in traffic with Winters holding the lead until Henderson peaked on the bottom out of 2. Winters saw it and came down to pinch him going into 3 with the former WoO field filler deciding to not hit the brakes to avoid the 23w. Henderson flips while Winters spins out, but keeps all 8 candles lit to drive away from the accident scene. Many others in the pits afterwards agreed on it being a racing deal while battling for the lead, so don't call the biased card here!
Henderson's done for the night, takes the car out through the back gate and leaves the Huset's faithful with their faces in their hands, for yet the 3rd race in a row at the track. Winters had some nose wing damage and front end damage, but still had the point with 9 to go at the restart. Dobmeier was behind him on the restart, with Peters & Tatnell (from 11th) there as well.
Winters car was bobbling in the corners and Dobmeier was just setting him up for a slider on a tricky track with the rubber on the top. He completed it with 4 to go with a slider in 2 and Peters got by Winters as well in heavy traffic coming out of 4. Dobmeier gives a "SEEYA" to the rest of the field for his 2nd win in a row, 3rd of the year, and #23 on his young, but terrific career. Peters was 2nd, Winters holding on for 3rd, Tatnell 4th and Bakker 5th. Alley popped a tire on the last lap while battling for 5th and crawled across in 9th. Lap leaders were Winters 1-21, Dobmeier 22-25.
Finish: 13 57x 23w 1 11x 4 1w 56 22 2D/ 6 12L 4w 101 9M 33 16 D1 9N 24M 28
A Feature Grade: A+; great racing upfront with the top 4. The bad luck continues for the D1 ever since opening his mouth over the PA system. Man, karma really is a bitch, aint it? The track could be run on both the bottom (when needed to pass lapped cars), was lightning fast on the top and slidejobs could be put on when warranted as well!
360s (20 cars, 18 laps) Ryan Bickett took off with the lead early in the race with Jody Rosenboom running him down rather quickly and peaks on the bottom coming out of 2. Bickett sees it and pinches him as well going into 3 punctuating a hole into the 27's right rear. On lap 8, red flag comes out for Brock Dump as he had nowhere to go when a lapper stops at the top of turn 2 with a broken axle. Pretty hard hit for Dump but he did walk away after a bit. This allowed Rosenboom's crew to plug the tire and he took the lead with 8 to go and held on even though Dave Glennon was coming in a hurry, and he settled for 2nd there. Bickett held on for 3rd.
FOAW: We'll give the full nod to the 13 of Dobmeier tonight since he took the lead with 4 to go passed the other FOAW in Winters. The Report is pretty damn sure that Winters would have held on for win #1 on the year if he hadn't had damage. But good luck to Dobmeier up on his home track in Grand Forks Friday against the Outlaws.
Crowd Pleasing Moment #1: Winters showing no remorse and pulling a WoO-esque pinch into 3 to hold off Henderson.
Crowd Pleasing Moment #2: Johnny Gibson getting booed by the VIP for the 2nd straight week when interviewed during intermission. Care to call back the remark as a top 5 talent not on tour? Or do you enjoy pie on your face all the time?
WTF: Winters not handing over the lead, gotta love someone wanting to hold onto it for once when pressured by the D1, and then keeping the car lit to hold onto the lead for the upcoming restart. Bravo job, kid.
"Home of the Professionals" Moment of the Night: Doing the 360 feature before the hobby stocks which then caused a marathon hobby stock feature on the slick track which was a result of it being after the 360s. Put it back in the normal order.
Mulligan Moment: Myself for dropping a t-shirt shot out of a cannon during intermission. Two different chances at grabbing it and came up with no effing tshirt. Sunglasses also thrown off the hat, just a bad sequence of events. Hell of a shot from Mr. Neisteadt though, you'll be hearing more noise, don't you worry.
Head Scratcher: Couldn't find anything to put in from the races so the Minnesota Twins get this posistion since getting swept in Chicago and being 6 ½ out and now only being 1 ½ out after tonight. Can't quite figure this team out.
Thumbs Up: Track prep, helluva job tonight. See what happens when you take some water off and let the track slick off? Great racing all around.
Thumbs Down: N/A. Too damn thrilled after that race to give negatives tonight.
Prime Mover: Tatnell was impressive coming from 11th to 4th. Alley had moved moved up from 14th to about 6th until he lost his tire on the last lap. Otherwise Lambertz, Rosenboom passed a good chunk in the back.
Trophy Queen Grade: Looked pretty damn good up top so we're giving them an A-.
Closing Stat of the Night: We have a point championship race again with Henderson DNF'ing. Dobmeier unofficially within 4 (cut from 20) after a tally done with the results given.
