with Reinke and Whitney in the series does anyone else really have a chance? if Scott Young raced full time, he'd have a chance. it would be the "Big Three"!

The only thing that could possibly stop Travis is the price of diesel fuel.

Everybody bow and give it to Whitney. Goeden won 6 times in poor equipment, more than any other driver, come on people how terrible can it be. Rienke, Nietzl, Meyer, Kristan, Warren, Hanei, none of these guys have a chance! If I am not mistaken Rienke, Goeden, Mojeski, Kristan, Johnson, Bartz, Warren, Davis and others are going to run 360's on a regular basis could be a good year to stay near Manitowoc and Plymouth. I'll trust my own eyes when I get to the first IRA race and see who shows up. I talked to Steve last weekend at the Sandbox and he didn't mention anything about any mass mutiny of half the top teams.

Where are they going to run 360's? Is any particular track in Wisconsin going to have 360's weekly or are they going to follow a 360 series?

It just blows my mind that some people love to pass along bad information just for the sake of hearing themselfs talk and be talked about. I personally know that a number of the names he mentioned as going to 360's don't even own a 360 nor are they planning on getting one.

i can not speak for anyone else, but as far as wayne modjeski goes we will be doing the entire msa scheudle this year. reason being is for wayne and the rest of the team the ira has just become to expensive at this point. dont get me wrong this is a great series to run with, im not at all saying anything bad about them at all. due to fuel prices and the cost of very expensive motors we are going to try to stay around home this year. you will also see a new looking car as fatt fro motorsports is the main sponsor on the mmz motorsports car this year along with a new number. hope to see everyone real soon.

Bad info, it appears one team has already confirmed what I have said. Talk about me how you must but I believe it to be true for most of the guys I mentioned. I didn't say anything bad other than give Whitney a bow!

Last I knew Kristan, Davis, Johnson, owned one. Bartz raced a 360 last year so I guess he does not own one. Modjeski (sorry about the spelling above) must have purchased one. So that leaves Rienke, Goeden and Warren. I think Rienke and Goeden have car owners so they probably do not even own a 410 personally. Don't know much about Warren other than he builds motors so I suspect it would not be a problem with him to have a 360. I did not mention Neitzel as I have not heard this one yet.

I am also being told that it will be a part time deal for most, so they can do the IRA stuff if they want.

Mr IRA traveler let's bet a cool case of your favorite beer that I am at least 80 % right. You personally know so it should be easy for you.

Thanks

Rod

Reinke may not be running 100%...the 360 shows twice a week 30-40 miles from home make it easy to stay close to home.

Goeden...I have heard nothing but whatever his car owner wants to do is probably where they will be.

Mojo's team has already responded and that is what I had heard before.

Kristan is planning on running the full IRA tour, but that was the plan last year and he couldn't justify the travel on a couple single night shows...could be similar this year.

Johnson bought out the Howie Gleason team after last season...I haven't heard if this meant a full IRA tour or if he plans on running the 360 shows with his brother Brian who will be back in 360's this year.

Bartz is planning on running the 360 shows.

Warren could be running a seat of his pants schedule this year.

Davis seemed happy running 360's but everything with Hollywood depends on sponsorships and he will run wherever the sponsors want him to run.

The true test for all of this will be the IRA / MSA all sprint show 4/26 at Big Beaver (Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam, WI). See what class your guy(s) are running that night and that should give you a little better idea of where there are going to prioritize 08.

It is what it is. I think that when we get into the season we'll see some changes across the board for every track and series. After all, none of these guys owes us a thing, they're just out there doing something they enjoy as long as they're able to do it. I've seen a few drivers and cars come and go since the early 60's but at the end of the day I can still say I have fun at the races. As a fan either you hang in there for the long haul or you let circumstances beyond your control affect your enjoyment of the sport. I think I'll hang in there...

Wow, it starts all ready..... usually these anti-IRA posters wait til the morning after a race. Stan, you are correct, there isn't a problem. Of the 20 point fund eligible teams from 07, I expect the overwhelming majority back for 08. Most hope to do the whole schedule, some set their goals at the 75% target which keeps them in the point fund. Economics is the only problem and as Stan stated IF it plays role at some point during the season it won't be just IRA that is hurt, it will be a national problem.

Let's keep this in perspective, as many of the driver's mentioned in the previous posts were NOT 75% last year. Stan, I actually came away from my trip up north a couple weeks back feeling quite confident as Billy Balog indicated his desire to race for the championship, and a member of Scott Young's team told me they'd be around more.

As a matter of fact I've been pleasantly surprised by the all the positive interest from many teams that have not been IRA regulars in the past who plan on drifting in.

There will be plenty of positive surprises as the season moves on. My glass is definitely half full.

While Wayne himself didn't run 75% last year, his team did as he shared the driving duties with Kurt.

Wayne called and told me of his plans, however he & Kurt plan to be at several shows.

Hope 77 Car Owner Bill Modjeski's health improves and he recovers quickly.

Congrats Ty & Tim on becoming Dad's, and thanks to both 75 & 77 for their long time support.

Nobody else as told me anything different. I think 4/26 will be an awesome show!

IRA is fine, and the proof is just around the corner. I'm more concerned about the weather!

Steve (my real name)

I think you might see Brooke at some of your shows this year as well Steve. Now we just need this weather to warm up. That's probably the biggest challenge right now.

We have hit several IRA short track shows (Cresco and Britt and I think La Salle IL. come to mind) over the years from central Iowa and they are good value vs. the cost of a ticket. If the feature has around 20 cars that start on a short track it makes for a good exciting show. We will car pool a few of us together and split the cost of gas and see some IRA shows with in 2 to 3 hours of Kellogg this year too. We quit doing the Husets Sunday night race about 4 years ago ( once or twice a year ) as 6 hours and getting home at 4:30 a.m. and doing a 10 hour shift is just to hard on us old men. I just don't care for the filler classes but Knoxville fan regulars are ....just spoiled, as we see nothing but sprint cars 95% of the time.
