Gas and another a situation kept me close the house tonight and not in Enid so I made the short jaunt to Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker for their season opener. Despite a close to 30 minute intermission, the racing program was done by 10:30 and the races were really, really good. The car count even was good in all classes. Not SFS standards but you really can't expect that.
I was in the pit area all night but the new concession stand on the grandstand side is huge and looks really nice. You can tell he has done alot of work to the track itself, especially turns three and four.
By the way, only ONE Ford Focus Midget.
Good job to Mark and the rest of the Brill Motor Speedway crew and I do hope all you fans and drivers will make the short trip over there more than a few times in 2008.
Now then, back to Enid Speedway Park tomorrow (Sunday) for the $10,000 to win finale. Next weekend it is USMTS at Siloam Springs and the week after that the $5000 to win for modifieds at Outlaw Motor Speedway.

Congrats to the winners, and at least an honorable mention to Jeff DeCocq, (great job finishing 2nd), Dustin Buntin, (good job in the new sprint), Brian Wolfe (looks like he might give Johnny Reed, Jr. a run for his money), also to all the sprint car drivers, (20 lap A Feature NO YELLOWS), and to everyone who took her home in 1 piece.
Also thanks to everyone for their patience, opening night is always crazy, and with so many changes, we had bugs.

What a fun night of racing...even if we didn't get to race! Mark and Debbie and crew, you have done an outstanding job on the track! What an improvement over the last few years!!
I was impressed with the attendance for the first race of the season...even with the damp evening. Even tho there were a few "bugs" I think things went well. We certainly enjoyed visiting with all our friends in the grandstands...wish we had had the time to visit after the races were over.
Hope the Factory 31 driver is okay...that was an awful hit on the wall.
Again, to the Brills...Great Job!!

I was right behind the 31, that wasn't a pretty sight. I hope it wasn't intentional!

It was a good opener even though it was cold. The track looked awesome with the new wider turns 3 and 4. Looked like the drivers were liking that too.
PushtruckMatt when you fired up all those new strobes on the truck I said I thought it was 300 cameras going off takin pictures of Britni Spears or something. My wife punched me hard in the ribs with an elbow and suggested that Britni probably wasn't there. I said ok, taped up the ribs and just watched the races ;)
Good job to the whole crew. Not bad for opening night jitters and all that!

That was a great job on the reconstruction of the track too. First night on the new turn and no ruts. Hats off to Brill for a great job.

Well it just goes to show what happens when things are done right as they have been over the last 2 1/2 years by Mark, Debbie & Crew at BMS, and it will only keep getting better & better, you can count on that !!!!

We had a great time. The race track is much better and you can see Brill and company's hard work. David Lee said after the race Mark told them on the radio that it was a nice clean race and they all did a great job. They also went to the vidio to get the scoring correct . Brill Speedway is goining the extra mile and is a nice place to race.
