I am in need of a valve cover that fits a 235 inline six cyl. chevy. I need it to finish an engine swap for a customer. Took out a 215 and put a 235 in it's place but the valve covers are different. Bolt holes are in the sides on the rail. Four bolts, two in each side. If anyone can help, My name is Dale and my cell # is 514-6745. Thanks.
See ya at the bowl this weekend.

235's are pretty common in the older junkyards. But then you would know this. Wonder if a 230 or 250 valve cover would work. If 250, then surely Dutch would have one.
235's had a reputation for being an oddball design, enough that they never did take priority from the 230 or 250 for the 1/4.

Yeah, I've checked a few junkyards. Thanks man. I got another problem now. The radiator was stolen from the vehicle. It's a 41 chevy 2-ton truck. Like what you'd see on a farm haulin grain years ago.

Well technically what we're talking about is a 216, not 215 and there was a lot of 1/4 mile racing before 1963 (when the 230 came out) and plenty of 216s out there competing with flathead Fords. Splash and clatter Chevys was better on flat tracks (aka plowed fields) than the Ford because they had more torque. Fords did better with some banking to keep the revs up.
And no, nothing from a 230 or 250 will fit on a 216 or 235. Early 235s used the same center post valve cover as the 216 with the full side cover that went over the head and block. You need a later 235 valve cover.
If you still need a cover, message me back and we'll see if we can't fix you up.
