I just got a parts flyer in the mail today, advertising tire warmers for sprint cars. I have not been to any races this year, is anyone already using them? I can see where they'd be useful for qualifying, but can't see there would be any beneift prior to the start of a race, with all the monkeying around geting lined up. I also am not sure how big a honkin' generator these puppies would require.

If WoO is serious about saving teams money, they could put a stop to this now.

I would have to say this is for the pavement sprint cars....I don't believe they'd be using these for dirt...

They are used in dirt racing also. I know of at least two teams that used them for the last couple of seasons, before qualifying.

I believe the company that makes these is a sponsor of the Woo.

The tire warmers are a big plus on dirt also. Sprints use bleeders to release the pressure built up from rear tire heat. If the tire is pre heated it will not expand as much, get better grip right away and the crew will not have as much trouble keeping the critical pressure right. They work with air or nitrogen equally well. On a cold night they will be a big advantage in qualifying and in the race. Very similar to pre heating the oil, it gives the team an advantage especially during the first part of the race. Heck I wanted them last year.
