Just saw on another message board that Bud Purkey passed away after a long battle with cancer.

I just saw that also.If my memory isn't failing me I rememder seeing him race around 74 and 75 on pavement at Tri-State along with Phillips,Essary,Leatherman,McDaniels,Sanders and others.Thoughts and Prayer are with Al and the rest of the Purkey family from the Shankle family.
