Seeing tracks closing and everything now is brutal and scary

I was always a NASCAR fan then I got bored. Around 2019 is when I really started to get into dirt racing

I had always worked weekends/nights so I never got to really pay attenton to dirt track racing and also didnt have  alot of money

Then I finally got a good paying jom M-F and was reallly able to fully commit to dirt racing. I love it but I feel like it's on the slippery sope with tracks closing and everything. Hate to see where this could be in 10 years

Dirt racing has some unique challenges.  Grass roots dirt racing at tracks not big enough to support big events is still a necessary thing.  The drivers in entry classes that support those tracks are working folks spending "disposable" income on racing.  Competitors and fans come from that same pool of local working people.  Big time Sprint Car racing needs that support to keep the tracks open so they have a place for their Sprint races.

Headwinds include aging promoters who want to retire but can't sell the property to someone who wants to keep a track operating.  Then we've got inflation and prices going through the roof and two competing series with one attempting to seize territory from the other.  Families who aren't maybe super fans but frequent tracks as a family night out are maxed out by inflation.

It's the first bump in the road to High Limit's sudden rise in popularity and on the business side could have an impact.  Not to leave out the Outlaws as economic headwinds affect everyone in the way of sponsor dollars.  It's a complex situation with a lot of moving parts.

I'm not a factor aside from dealing with ongoing medical expenses that have nothing to do with sports.  My two streaming channel routine renews during a busy time of year so the affect on me will be evaluating whether I can or want to renew one or both like I do every season.
