Nice change of pace, didn't miss the same stupid songs and wore out lines.  Nobody cared about the streak other than him.

Thanks for contributing to this string.

I'm thankful that we have someone so dedicated to the sport of sprint car racing. Very few of us on here can say they've given so much time back to the sport we love.

Kudos to him to take a night off.

After something like 3100  Conservative events his boss probably could believe he was asking for a night off. And no way the boss could say No.

The cliches and phrases are old because he has been doing it forever. Any announcer with that much history will be guilty of the same thing. Johnny is good at his job, dedicated and a valuable employee. Not many people share his dedication to one employer for that length of time. If anything, he is the poster child of abnormal for all the good reasons.

Social Distortion and The Descendents in Nashville.  I bet that was epic.

Good on him.

Conner Wade's father Shane is a FB friend of mine even though I have never met him in person.  I have send Shane some stories and photos of his grandfather, Hall of Fame Driver Chuck Amati.

This is what Shane posted last night in response to Conner announcing the Outlaw race:

Conner did just fine.  However, watch the end of the race again.  It would have been a completely different vibe on the last lap with Johnny.  There was a slider in 3 and 4, followed by a crossover for the win.  If I hadn't known it was the end of the race, I would have thought it was lap 3.  He did just fine the rest of the race.
