Has anyone ever noticed that sprint car drivers rarely, or if ever, mention who their chassis builder is in Victory Lane? Compare that to just about any Dirt Late Model race, the driver always seems to mention who his chassis, engine bulder and in most cases his shock manufactuer are on both the national and regional levels. I have always wondered why sprint car drivers do not do the same thing????

I disagree.  Most drivers do mention who their chassis maker is.  However, mentioning a chassis that is made in China is not one I would mention.

Come to think of it, you're right.  I don't recall drivers mentioning chassis manufacturer in victory lane

If they are not a sponsor, they will not be mentioned. Getting sponsors these days is hard enough, no need to make it any harder by advertising for some companies for free.

Agree!  If I'm paying full price for a chassis, then why would I mention this any more than every other component I paid for in the car?  If the Chassis manufacturer is providing them to me for promotion of the product, that's different.  If I'm being paid to mention their products when I win, that's different.

That is all well and good, but you can't tell me every single DLM driver in the country is sponsored by a chassis builder, yet they all mention their chassis builders.. I think there is more of a "chassis war" in the Dirt Late Model world, where the fans actually care what kind of chassis their driver is running, almost like a Ford vs Chevy thing. The fans are almost as loyal to a chassis, i.e, Longhorn vs Rocket, more than the sprint car fans. I know I would like to see/know what chassis the sprint car drivers are running, but maybe that is just me.......

It's just you.....I give 2 flying craps what chassis anyone is running.  Makes zero difference to me.

Ha Ha, well I guess you have never followed or watched a Dirt Late Model race. You proved my point. Sprint car fans do not care about the chassis the drivers run, where it is almost a religion for the DLM fans......

If they are not receiving a markdown or free chassis or any other benefit from that company, why would you advertise for them for free? As a former racer, i would not do so.

You are all just proving my point over & over. Just a totally different mineset between sprint cars & dirt late models. It was why I asked the question in the first place. For some reason it matters with the DLM drivers and fans, and it is not even a blip on the radar in the sprint car world. I am not arguing with anyone, it was just an observation I noticed the past few years watching a ton of streaming on DV and Flo between the two forms if racing.

Wow, we can agree on something for once. If the OP is interested in chassis makes sometimes the track announcers mention them as well as engine builders during driver introductions. I don't think many fans care about their favorite drivers car/engine combos.

I don't recall much mention of chassis builders by sprint car racers. Maybe it's because most seem like they are copies of every other chassis built in the last couple of decades?

I think the late model drivers that do mention it are getting at least some financial reward for doing so. In the last couple years, I've heard drivers mentioning what shocks they run, or after a crash what brand of seat they use. Coincidence? I heard a driver specifically call out the brand of fuel cell he used after it split open in a crash, but that was probably different. ;)

You know why most farmers don't wear tennis shoes? Because the seed corn companies don't give them away free. You know why most sprint car drivers don't mention their chassis builder?....

If its DV or Flo its means its the pros and if they are winning in the pros they probably getting something from the chassis builder. I watch every woo highlights reel from every  sprint woo race and they mention thier chassis nearly every  time.

Well said.  This can be two fold also.  If they're not giving you any money why tell people about it?  Also, if you think you found a product that is kind of a secret and helping you win.  Why would you tell anyone about it?
