interesting - but why was Rahmer so high? He's had much better years than 2007 hasn't he? and in those years wasn' ranked so high.............but then again I don't really know - just curious.............I think we'll see Lucas Wolfe climb that poll year after year.....................

I wish that the poeple that vote on these polls would sit down and vote logically about who the top drivers are and base it on their perfromance this year. I remember a few years ago Sammy was in the top 20 and didn't even run in 10 races.

Rahmer is too high in this year's poll. As far as weekly racing in PA is concerned, the two fastest cars week in and week out were Hodnett and Lucas Wolfe. They should both be ranked ahead of Fred.

Name recognition and popularity contests.

They are of little real value.

Rahmer won an unprecedented 10th track title at Lincoln Speedway out of the last 14 years. If you ask me, he and Hodnett should be ahead of Dollansky...lol.

Cubic, you don't have to sell me on Rahmer. I see him race almost every week, just like you do. But I still think he is too high for the type of year he had.

We actually agree that the poll is skewed toward the Outlaws every year. Should the top several spots be held by the Outlaws? Of course, the top drivers with the WoO are the best drivers in the country. But I know even Kevin Eckert has written in the past that one of the problems he has with the voting is that people put too much stock in guys going up and down the road that only win a couple races a year.

I can remember 15 years ago, Kevin writing how ridiculous it was to have Steve Beitler receiving votes just because he was traveling the WoO tour.

This type of poll ranks right up there with "best appearing car" awards based on fan applause. In my opinion its head-to-head, and you gotta "back it in to pull it out".

The Posse wins at Knoxville the last three years in a row and Leppo and Layton spank the Outlaws at Grove is head to head. If Meyers didn't get hot at the end of the year Rahmer and Hodnett should've been ranked ahead of him as well.

This vote is done by a panel of voters.

Maybe some people are seeing things different that you.

I am NOT on the voting panel.

Maybe you should lobby to be on the panel, but they are usually more neutral in their voting than people with a preconceived notion that their people should be the winners.

I sometimes do not agree with the results either, but this is America, step up to the plate and do the work and research to be an unbiased panelist.

They should look at the big races where everyone is there. How did the top drivers do in Volusia last Feb.? How did they do at the Knigs Royal? How did they do at the Knoxville Nationals? How did they do in Chico, CA.? How did they do at the National Open? Then you should look at how drivers did on the local level.
