IT'S RACE WEEK! 2nd Annual Sprint Car Bandits 82 Speedway TEXOMA SPRINT CAR CHAMPIONSHIPS – SAT. MAY 30, 8pm! $2,000 to win & $300 to start!

Petty, TX (05/26/20) by DarinShort.com. 82 Speedway in Petty Texas, AKA “The Land of the XL” will host the best 360C.I. powered Sprint Car teams of the region with 2nd running of the Texoma Sprint Car Championships featuring the NCRA 360C.I. Sprint Car Bandits® (SCB) series presented by BasicE-Commerce.com. The series also negotiated an XL-size competitor purse of $2,000 to win and $300 just to take the green flag in the 25-lapper.

Track Promoter Tracy Peters comments: “the Sprint Car Bandits bring a quality field of drivers – and us, along with our fans really enjoy the high-speed thrill show they put on at 82 Speedway. When you pair up our 60-70’ wide progressive banked racing surface and the high-quality sprint car teams of the ‘Bandits, you’re guaranteed to see a great race. And we’re holding the line on ticket pricing. Adults can get in to see this event for just $18 so more families can afford to take it in.”

82 Speedway is known as the ‘Land of the XL’ and features a super-wide multi-groove progressive banking surface that is .26 miles in distance on the pole and exactly a 3/10 mile on the top groove of the speedway. There is even a run-off area around the entire racing surface which helps assist drivers that might develop a problem during a race.

Since it’s the first sprint car event of the season at 82, pit Gates open early at 4pm on race day (82 Speedway teams - please arrive early to get registered if you haven’t already at www.82speedway.com), hot laps are slated around 7:30pm with racing at 8pm.

Grandstands open at 6:30pm. 82 Speedway divisions will round out the very full night of racing, including the Texas Wing Modified Association, USRA Limited Mods and Factory Stocks; plus the Eco Stocks, Eco Mods, Texas Stocks & FWD/Tuners. (Modifieds are scheduled off.) The SCB are slated to run 3rd division out for the feature event. All divisions have a great posted competitor purse (see below).

82 Speedway divisions Draw Cutoff/Pit Meeting at 7pm (all cars will draw for heat race starting position, all heats earn finishing and passing points, features are straight up), Track Packing 7:30 & Hot Laps with Racing to follow immediately.

Grandstand admission Adults $18 (ages 12-64), Kids ages 6-11 $5, Seniors/Military $13. Any outside food/drink cooler brought into main grandstand area (size of 12-pack, no glass containers) are $5 (same as 2019). Pits are $35. Pit access for ages 5 and under is $15. Anyone under the age of 18 entering the pit area must complete an annual minor's release form prior to entering.

If you’ve yet to visit 82 Speedway, it is much closer to DFW than a lot of people think and is NOT the old Paris Speedway southeast of Paris. As a point of reference, including a quick fuel stop, you can get from the intersection of Bass Pro Shops/I-30/Bush in Garland to 82 Speedway in 80 minutes. 82 Speedway is about 15 minutes WEST of PARIS, located on Hwy 82 on the east edge of Petty, TX. The address is 16369 US Hwy 82 Petty, TX 75470.

Here's the purse structure for Saturday May 30th at 82 Speedway. Working RaceCeivers and transponders are required in ALL racing divisions:

Sprint Car Bandits ‘Texoma Championship’ A-feature purse (25 laps): $2,000 – 1,000 – 600 – 500 – 400 – 390 – 380 – 370 – 360 – 350 (10th) – 340 – 330 – 320 – 310 – 300…to start. $100 each to all eligible NQ’s or non-starters. SCB draw cutoff/pit meeting at 6:30pm. There is no SCB entry fee, no series membership fee and a $20 nightly draw fee. Drivers must go to www.SprintCarBandits.com prior to arrival for complete rules and procedures information…which will all be in effect. All SCB teams that sign in will draw for heat race starting positions, regardless of their engine C.I. displacement (up to and including 360C.I.) and will receive passing points to determine their straight-up from points feature race starting position. Again, all drivers make sure to read the posted rules at the series website prior to heading to the track. Mufflers not required. RaceCeivers and Transponders (Westhold yellow) required. Draw cutoff and mandatory drivers meeting at 6:45pm.

USRA Factory Stocks, USRA Limited Modifieds & Texas Stock Features: $500 – 300 – 200 – 160 – 120 – 100 – 90 – 80 – 70 – 60…to start. If there 11 or fewer cars in these divisions, their feature payback starts with 2nd place and continues from there (as was the case in 2019). Mufflers not required. RaceCeivers and Transponders (Westhold yellow) required.

Texas Wing Modified Association purse and rules in effect, visit http://www.texaswingmodifiedassociation.com/ for more series information.

Eco Mods & Eco Stocks (same purse structure each division: $300 – 200 – 160 – 120 – 100 – 80 – 70 – 60 – 50…to start. Purse is guaranteed for each division that has 12 or more cars signing in for racing. If there 11 or fewer cars in these divisions, the feature payback starts with 2nd place and continues from there (as was the case in 2019). Mufflers not required. RaceCeivers and Transponders (Westhold yellow) required.

Front Wheel Drive Tuner Division feature: $150 – 100 – 80 – 60 – 30…to start. USRA Tuner car rules are in effect for this division. Mufflers not required. RaceCeivers and Transponders (Westhold yellow) required.

Drivers competing in USRA divisions must be licensed. Go to www.USRAracing.com to get your Modified, Factory Stock or Limited Modified licensed, as the track can no longer sell USRA licenses on race night – you can only purchase a temporary license at the track on race night.

Transponder rentals are $15 (with ID, any damage done to transponders is drivers liability). Annual car registration is $40. RaceCeivers are not available as a rental...but they are required, as are transponders. Reserved pit spaces are available for the season, which can be purchased (along with car registration) at www.82Speedway.com then click the ‘driver registration’ button on the upper left of the home page. Click www.82Speedway.com for all division rules.

No one likes rain on race day. But here is the track policy if, and when, it intervenes. If the races rain out before the completion of the heat races, hold on to your ticket stub, as it will be valid for the next scheduled race of same ticket price value (in other words, if tickets that night were $15, the next event you will have a $15 credit when you redeem your ticket stub from the previous event). The exact same procedure will be in effect regarding pit passes. If the races rain out after the heat races, the event is considered complete, and any remaining races will not be rescheduled and all drivers will receive start money for their scheduled division that night (for any of the feature events that rained out). There will be no grandstand tickets valid for a future date if races are rained out after the completion of heat races.

Transponders and RaceCeivers required for all divisions. (Transponder rental available at pit window. 82 Speedway uses Westhold transponders.) All non-touring division cars must be registered at 82 Speedway each year. There is a $40 annual registration fee for each 82 Speedway division cars you enter to compete in.

**RACE TEAMS: 82 Speedway generally does not require you to change gearing to race here if you are usually racing on ¼-mile track! When the track was originally built it was advertised as a 3/8 mile. Now that it has been reconfigured by Tracy, it is nearly an exact .26 miles on the pole and 3/10 mile if you're racing the top groove (as the racing surface is 60+ feet wide!).

Keep up with the latest track news by clicking www.82Speedway.com or @82Speedway on Facebook.com.

If you’d like to get SCB series t-shirts prior to race night, the online store at www.SprintCarBandits.com has them for sale right now.

It's going to be a FANtastic night of racing at 82 Speedway Saturday May 30th at 8pm, come join us for all the action – all at family-affordable prices!
