thanks ASCS, I-30 Speedway, and all race teams that participated---for an awesome weekend of racing. I can only imagine the effort it took to get everything ready. Only 1 suggestion - more concessions. The food (especially cheeseburgers) was really good. Looked like they coulda used just a couple of stands or somthin like that. But great weekend nonetheless. All the folks I met there were really nice and cool too. The race itself reminded me of Knoxville 360 Nationals - the field of cars and the cool folks anyways - it may not have the speed of knoxville - but the overall racing I think is just as good.

BTW - dmantx - could you post somthin of the points for the Cowtown Shootout ya'll are doin - I mean points heading into Cowtown?

OKC-

I ditto your thoughts on the event and considering the logistics of everything involved; it all went very smoothly. I'm especially glad the weather issue never materialized on Thursday. Just goes to show when they say there is a 90% chance of rain - that still means there's a 10% chance that it won't!

I'll be making a press release with the Short Track Shootout points, the November Sprint Shootout plus other event notes here in a couple of days. We all need just a moment to catch our breath, and then we'll be ready for another fun weekend of racing at Cowtown on Nov. 9-10.

When I saw the heading "day after the STN" I thought I was going to see something like this. ;)

yeah I didn't even get to the track till midnight thursday - was just gonna go stright through to Benton to the hotel - but saw people up there and booked it up there and still got to see the feature. Probably worked out best that way as it was cold and I didn't have all my thermals and stuff on -

Many of those guys that ran the A Main saturday said they weren't goin to Cowtown - but I figure guys like J. Johnson and Rilat among others might not pass it up. Cowtown is great track thats very well ran and the Shootout ya'll are puttin together with it I hope brings many cars. Ironically it will be the 1st time I'll see the big mods run down there as they always sit idle when ASCS runs there. Look forward to that show - weather should hold up it's gonna be fairly warm here in Oklahoma at least up until a few days before that race.

What and where are the nearest hotels to the track?
