I'm no left-wing liberal - and I don't think Halliburton and republicans are deeply connected.......but I do think they are a powerful corporation who stands to make a ton of money off of war. yes I know - they are only 1 of many. they are just another of the long line who benefit off the backs of the common man. this has become the norm socially and economically. sorry if I misled you there..........but the evils of private corporations and greed are manufactered by liberals and conservatives.........democrats and republicans. thats where my argument comes in on why we are "stuck" so to speak - with the 2 main parties we now have. most often I answer my own question - it is because both parties are filled with dirty greedy bastards who have made tons of money off the american taxpayer and have used that money to solidify themselves and their parties. as I've always said - and as no one has ever listened - I'm not a liberal or conservative. I agree and disagree with both sides. I do find liberals to be the far more rational of the 2 - but it's all the same in the end. everyone knows they are misled and cares nothing about changing anything. no sir - no left or right for me. all who purposely categorize to suit their arm chair crap talking needs are ripping this country apart. both sides hate each other........so it's an extreme disservice to my country (whether I like it or not), to my grandfather (fought in D-Day), or to my beliefs as an individual..........to associate myself with either of 2 groups who are ruining anything good in this country and are both clearly in the wrong. I prefer a free and independent way of thinkin - not to be determined by what party my voting card has on it. in a unified country - both parties and their followers should be considerate to an extent with one another. both liberals and conservatives should work together ----- and whereas I see both wrong in the broad sense - most conservatives seem fanatical - which is highly ironic since that is what they are so preoccupied with - fanatics. I guess it takes one to know one. instead of bashing on the other side - why doesn;t everyone just take an interest in the other side so that if that other side wins - you are still involved and not out pissing in the wind and talkin crap? thats why I give just as much attention to republican debates as I do Democratic debates............because this country can ill afford to have 8 more years of dividing the country the way we have had for the last 8 years. folks will never see eye-to-eye but at the same time - everyone has carelessly embraced the division in this country - blind to the course that puts the country on. both sides should give a lil bit of ground to meet in the middle - in the name of progress of common goals.

even I think this is a rather weird post considering most others. btw 257 entries at the chili bowl is amazing! and to think many thought last year was an anomoly that would be hard to match - now it looks as if another record count will be set. thats great. and does anybody know exactly what will be televised for the HBO-PPV show? will it be just the B's and A feature and highlights of the rest or what?

Oh my! rational thinking and not just a knee jerk reaction or shoot the messenger shi*. I'm not sure how this is going to fly OKCFan12, but I found it refreshing. Maybe there is some hope...LOL

I'll bet you know what Ike said about the industrial military complex before he left office, but I'll bet he never thought a company like Halliburten could operate in the open without outrage by the American people. http://www.halliburtonwatch.org/about_hal/chronology.html

"Relations between men in charge of the administrative branches of government and men who run the expanded corporations and unions are often close. Their collaboration may occur while each is an official in his respective hierarchy, or by means of personal shifting of positions; the labor leader accepts a government job or becomes the personnel man of a corporation; the big-business official becomes a dollar-a-year man; the government expert accepts a position with the corporation his agency is attempting to regulate. Just how close the resemblance between governmental and business officials may be is shown by the ease and frequency with which men pass form one hierarchy to another. While such changes may seem mere incidents in an individual career, the meaning of such interpenetration of managerial elite goes beyond this, modifying the meaning of the upper brackets and the objective functions of the several big organizations" (White Collar: The American Middle Classes, 1951, p. 83).

And it happens in both parties but the fact is that right now our foreign policies are being steered by corporations not what is right or good for this country. Halliburten has just taken it to a new level.
