Maps 3 may not have had anything to do with SFS..... BUT Since it passed things just got expedited, to the fact of getting an early start on tearing it down to be ahead of schedule. So in about a year or so they can pat their-self on the back and say how much money they saved by starting early. And if it would not have passed the time line would probably been a little different.

You know we need to start thinking about some positives. What are they going to do with some of the valuable items their teaing down?
What about getting the Score Board, Grandstand seating, Guardrails, Lightpoles, fencing, flagstand, P A, scales, etc. All those Items can be a tremendous start to a new track and should not go to waste. Heck bring them out to my 40 acres and I'll go rent a Dozer, I live in Logan county unrestricked 35 min from SFS with shade trees for pit parking. I dont like my neighbors anyway but as you all know its hard to get along with old JD. LOL.

I want to take an ax or even dismantle a small one section of bleachers that I had sat on since 1983. Just four people wide and if I could take the far north end breezeway with me I would.

I would like to have the flagstand for the memories in 90-91 or where we sat on the press box isle for the last 10 years. And fought with James and JD.

I'll take a few of the chairs in section E, Row 12, about in the middle of the row, and also that big white tire in the middle of turns 1 and 2, all of them have some significance to me

I want a few of the infield tires. I believe I hit everyone of them. Lot of front axles and shocks used up on those tires.

What we need to do as a group is still have an ORA. During the next election find out the canadate running for Mayor and Council Seats open and support those Canadates. Call their offices and get a sign in your front yard or go put some up in your area. If they get elected maybe a race track can be in our future if so we go through the front door on the people that shut us down instead of going around to the back. I dont know when the next election is but it seems as though there has been broken promises to the Brave Firefighters and Police as well. Maybe they might like to join the ORA as well. JD is right and as I have said, turn your attention to electing new people. All those email addresses you have for the people in charge right now? Email those people and let them know they will not get your vote in the next election. That includes your marvelous Mayor, who is just a puppet for Ron Norrick.

There is no reason for ORA to disband. This should be a state wide org.I-44 is still in far south Okc and if the racers there know about it they might would join, well the smart ones anyways. Not having a voice for these racers has been a problem in the past.E-mail all the info about this group such as what their goals are, what they actually do for the racers, then maybe we can start another membership drive. Was ORA for SFS racers only?

I want back my Souvenir T-Shirt sign haning over the Pay Window that I hand painted and installed over 20 years ago. I also want the section of seating five rows up behind the Flagstand where I sat starting in 1967 with my Mom, Brother, Sister, cousins and Aunt Buddie.
My Aunt, Buddie Faye Ebey paved the way for women to compete at Fairgrouds Speedway in 1973. Before that time women were not allowed into the Pit Area at any Race Track across the state (except for the Powder Puff Derby's) and the country for that matter. She made History and set the standards for today.
It did however take a Lawsuit before this came to fruit. So maybe this is the direction WE as a group need to lean towards.
My Aunt is in poor health, but I'm sure she will have some inspiring comments for the Racing Community. She is still a Racer at heart and will always be a part of Oklahoma's Racing History.

I believe the city may make some of the usuable items (lights, flagstand, fence, etc.) available to those who are interested in beginning another track. I don't know if those items would be free, but was led to believe that the city would be somewhat compliant in making them available.

The scoreboard would be one big enhancement to any track, preferably a new track. The flag stand and all the front stretch catch fence would also be a great addition to a track or new track.

The only good I see coming from closing SFS is that now all of the people who live over there can hear the gun shots now, that is if the boom box cars and the unmuffled hogs are not to loud.

The Fairboard had just enough money in their budget to fix the fence and now that is the reason that they can't fix the electric situation. Cheese took all the money to fix the catch fence.
