Okay, the first step is in.
I sent some pictures in to the NSRA and they liked them quite a bit! So much so that they are sending a liability contract to me to have signed. I also sent them a little history for the magazine they put out called Streetscene. They want us there, and many of their vendors would like to sell their products to the vintage race car movement. Lets face it, we are forced to be more hands-on.
THE KICKER- They have a rule ---All non-street legal exhibitors must be in place on Thursday by 6pm. They cannot be moved until Sunday at 3:30pm. This means the cars will have to be there for three nights and three days so that everybody who comes through will be able to see them.
This is a high profile spot, and I guarantee you there will be lookers. DIRT CARS DRAW CROWDS AT STREET ROD SHOWS!
I stated that since the time alotted was so long, the best I could do was try to get 5-6 cars for that area. Most will only want to be there a day or two.

Now it is time to get hotel accomodations for these cars as a bonus for showing up. The deal will have to be--You show up, you get the room/voucher/money if you are the car owner/caretaker of one of the cars that shows in the circle. Static display only, 5-6 cars.
The foot is in the door.
I will have 2-3 cars on the side to fill in just in case I come up short, BUT I WOULD RATHER HAVE THEM PUSHED ASIDE FOR THE OTHERS THAT DO COME. I have 2 staging areas outside of OKC, and can have them closeby in short order.
Now the next thing-
I am now looking for an overflow area that will allow for those that wish to come in for a day or two. Preferably in front of the Fairgrounds Grandstand. The main day would be on Saturday.
I am also looking into something for Friday night, as well as other things you will probably like. Later on that.
This is an attempt to further unite the North and the South, no money in it for me. Let us set aside our differences and push this thing we love a little further. We just might get to put tire to dirt on the other side of the Grandstands if it all goes well.
Let me know if you are still interested in being inside the NSRA show.
Thank you

The people that come in are from everywhere, it's also a great way to extend your promoting power to push the Vintage shows going on in the Kansas,Oklahoma, Texas region. For this stretch, the main fringe comes to OKC, or at least knows someone who will.

Chin up, chest out, our deal ain't dead yet. In fact it is still going on in spite of the closing of the speedway. I'll have an update soon.
