I met Harold way back in the 70's when my brother raced with him an Greg Cherry and Bob Nelson. He never took racing or life too seriously and did the best with what he had. I always liked to talk to him and remember old times. We at TMAC racing will miss you greatly, Harold. God bless Alice, Jeff and Lloyd.

RIP Harold, I also have know Harold for years. Always loved to talk to him while he lettered my car. There just isn't a better person in the world to sit & talk to. Always a racing or lettering story to listen to.
Thoughts & prayers to the Leep Family from the Gordon Family.
Going to miss a really great friend!

What a shock. There was no one better to do lettering on a car than Harold. He will be truly missed. TW Boutwell and Family

One of the absolute best guys around the OKC racing scene. I had known Harold from working at the speedway in the mid-80's but really got to know him hanging out at the Hefner golf course in the early '90's. It seemed like every time I went there he was there as well. Like Dave posted above, it might be a year between times I'd see him but he always greeted me with a big smile and a "Hi, Bill".
Without trying to be insensitive, had he been ill? I've been out of the loop recently.
My thoughts go out to his family. Heaven's got one of the nice guys now.

The first and only time I have ever met Harold was at a friends shop in bfe somewhere around Blanchard.I was supposed to be working on a car that had been crashed.Harold was there lettering another car,I remember well, being amazed by the job he was doing on that car and asking questions here and there,he gladly answered each. After joking, talking awhile he even let me try my hand at some of that lettering,He laughed and grinned while he fixed the part I tried to letter,He said "stick with welding"I jokingly told him thanks I used to be a fan of your dads.A two and a half hour job I was supposed to do took more like five that day.The time was not a factor,I then realized that I met one good dude. I just wanted to share this event with all, even though it was only a few hours. RIP my friend.

Harold Leep, Jr. was born on October 9, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas. He died on May 30, 2008. He was 55 years old. He is survived by his wife Alice, two sons Jeff and Maggie Leep and Lloyd and Heather Leep. He is also survived by his four grandkids Harlie and Reese Leep, Trey Leep and Alissa Hinshan. Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is also survived by his father Harold Leep Sr. of Muskogee, OK. He enjoyed sprint car racing, lettering signs, and spending time with his grandchildren. Few words cannot express the greatness of a man and all he has done for people and lives he has touched. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and were around him. A Memorial Service will be held at the State Fair Speedway on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 7:00 PM. The family requests that flowers be sent to 2722 Winston Rd., OKC, OK 73120 or make a donation to a charity of your choice.
