What EXACTLY would you 2 that are complaining so much (one that wasn't even at the track) do if you were in Hoffman's shoes? Give everyone their money back and take a major loss on the day? Remember the economy is struggling, how can we expect a track promoter to take a huge loss? That's right, you all just showed up for a special, so it doesn't really matter if this track goes under or not. Stick the promoter with a loss…who cares. You guys come to the track once a year…why should he be so concerned about pleasing you? The most entertaining comment thus far by JenLamb was to give everyone half of their money back. Are you serious? You would have complained EVEN MORE about that if he did. Or…give the people the option to get a refund or save their ticket stub and wrist band. Given the option, what do you think EVERYONE would choose?
I have NEVER been to a racetrack that gave my money back because of weather. That is the nature of the sport! You high and mighty sprint car people seem to have forgotten that along the way somewhere.
I like how you all say it was a robbery. You act as if Hoffman hired a weatherman to help predict the best possible day for a rainout so that he could take everyone's money. I looked at the weather multiple times during the week of the race. All week long they were calling for rain on Saturday. If I was so worried about the economy and had to pull from such a long distance, I would probably do the wise thing and stay home. Instead, you made the trip, paid or a hotel, and then got rained out. How can that be Hoffman's fault?
If it was a robbery, he would have rescheduled it for Wednesday, December 3 and screwed all of you over. Not many would be able to return and he has already collected the money. Some complain that he didn't have a reschedule date ready the day it happened. I am sure he wanted to go back and look at other events going on in March. Seems like there just isn't a way to please you people.
Good luck trying to dismantle Springfield Raceway from far away. The track will do just fine next year no matter how much you try to get it shut down. I'm glad sprint cars are not big in this area!

So, everyone should feel sorry for him because he is a promoter? He shouldn't worry about the racers being happy because they only come once a year? Hope the chili bowl doesn't get this same philosophy. How many cars would have been there if it wasn't for the ones that only show up once a year?? I haven't heard 1 person say it was his fault it rained. But I think he should try to make it right that he is keeping everyone's money. jmo.
P.S. PLEASE back away from the crack pipe!

Normally in my travels I have seen the "no refund" signs at tracks but when the promoters are asked by the drivers and fans for their refund, and it is a special event with out of town drivers and fans, it was always granted. This was, of course, if it rained out before all heat races were complete. If not giving refunds was the norm, this hoseheads message board and other boards (whowon.com, others) would be lit up constantly with upset people.
However, such is not the norm and that is why there is such a fuss over what happened. I have been on Hoseheads message board since it was developed and I have never seen this circumstance and so many upset people. And trust me when I say it is not limited to the sprint car people that are upset.
I do, however, don't believe it was handled correctly to start off with as the promoters should have been called politely or looked for at the track politely and try to be solved that way instead of how it is handled now.
Instead we have the hottest topic with more views then any other in the history of Hoseheads (I believe) and I truely feel bad for all that are invovled. All of this is not good......

"dlunatic"... your rationale is that we should just say "dang weather - but bless Hoffman's little heart for trying to make it happen - I'm glad he at least got enough of our money to pay for his expenses so he wouldn't be out anything" RIGHT.
As I stated many times before...it's not just about the money. It's how it was handled and the principle of the matter. There was no concisderation for the racers and fans that came to support the event. Not even an "sorry guys" - just instant attutide of "how dare you all want any of your money back." Then, when I called and tried to politely tell Hoffman our circumstances that we couldn't be back down there for a reschedule, he was instantly defensive and rude.
And when it rains out in March - which is more than likely in this part of the country, then what happens? "Bless his heart - he tried again....well, that's too bad."
And I'm with David Jones....just say NO to drugs.

WAH, WAH, WAH!!!!!!! What a bunch of crybabies!!!! JenLamb35, you need to see a new shrink. Time for a higher dose of meds. Where you come up with you wre robbed, beats me. Do you really think he would squander that much money to where he couldnt fund the next race? Lets hear how the hubby feels about the subject, in his words, not you posting them for him under a different name. Oh wait I think he already has by the name Darin, if not you two idiots are made for each other . All you have done is get on every forum and stir up trouble. I think the whole Turkey Classic would be much better if they just left you guys out and made it a mod only dal. Just as many cars and alot better racing.

Thank you dluna11w for finally helping get the point accross that the lieing about it bieing a Robbery and lieing about people getting riped off at the pit gate is all a lie.
Maybe they will go at this like adults,,,,, next time they might get somewhere.Nobody is going to lesson to lieing and cussing people out at the pit gate.People will see the truth now and not let the heading of this section make mthem think its something else.
Win as if you are use to it.And lose as if you enjoyed
it for a change. Its hard to get to the top and alot
harder to stay there.

Jones - I never said everyone should feel sorry for him. I simply asked a few questions that I'd like to hear you and Lambchop (I suppose I will resort to 3rd grade name calling as well) answer. Not giving a refund doesn't mean he doesn't care about those of you that come to his track once a year. He rescheduled so that you are able to get your race in. Why can't you accept his policy? He isn't keeping your money. The money will be paid out at the rescheduled date. What I meant about you coming once a year is why should he take a large loss for a group of "elite" racers that visit his track one time a year? If you supported the track every week, maybe it would be a different story. You should be happy he tried to give you the opportunity to race. Crack pipe huh? Considering I've never touched a single drug in my life, you are out of your mind. Nice signature quote by the way. I love your type!! HAHAHA
Lambchop – YOU WERE NOT EVEN THERE! YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! I am sure if someone came to where you work (or do you?) and called you a few select curse words…you would immediately kiss their a$$ and ask them if there is any way that you could assist them. YA RIGHT. Once again you were not there, but everyone started cussing him as soon as he showed up…I am sure you would be ok with that. I don't believe you for a minute that you called "politely" at 8am in the morning. Anyone that believes you after reading your posts more than likely has a problem. If it rains in March, he will reschedule again and I am CERTAIN you will be the first one to start the complaining all back up again. Maybe you can come this time and see how it all goes down instead of going by what you "heard" happened. Same goes for you…I don't use drugs and it would be nice if you could come up with something on your own.

Lunatic -
Denial is the first hurdle in rehab with drugs. Anger is the second. This is what happens when you try to quit meth too fast.
You have got to be Hoffman's sister/wife (or both?) - because when did I ever tell anyone what time I called him? Mmm...you told on yourself!
Good luck to the three of you on starting your Hoffman fan club (four if you count Sunshine) Or are these personalities just a few of one person?? Do they talk to each other in your head? The rest of us 500 people that don't agree will continue with life and wish you the best in your recovery.
I have to go get my new meds. Later!

These drug references really piss me off, but I will do my best to be the adult in this "conversation." Hopefully people that read your post see how childish you are and realize your posts are about the same as what you would get from a 7th grade cheerleader…if that.
And you make a very lousy inspector. I read the time that you called him either on this forum or the southwestmissouriracing thread that was deleted (I will not waste my time finding the exact thread)…Hoffman said what time it was that you called, I'm sorry that I have a good memory. I live in St. James, Missouri and have no relation to Hoffman, nor do I know Sunshine or redbandana. I would love to see a list of these 500 people that don't agree. Why don't you try to be an adult for a couple seconds and answer my questions about how you would have handled the entire situation if you were the promoter? He had 20 minutes to decide, you've had many days to think it over…give us your procedure.
I don't know why I even try when I'm dealing with someone that is arrogant enough to name their website: "badmanracing"

11w they have now had over week to think it over and are sticking with their plan that you say they only had 20 minutes to think of, like any of the entire day they might have not thought, hey we need a plan? Or how about when they took the time to call the cops, sure they done that for just one or two upset people.

Jen Lamb,
Just to refresh your memory, it was posted by either you or Hoffman in the SWMO forum in reply
to Jesse Stovall that you called Hoffman at 8:00 or 8:30 am that Sunday
morning. Pretty stupid to call anyone that early on a Sunday morning,
especially in a deal like this. I wise person would have given it a day
or two for things to cool down and for rational thinking to take over.
Instead, you probably woke him up and had an attitude from the
beginning and then when he didn't kiss your ass, you got all bitchy
with him. Then you got on the SWMO forum and bashed Stovall when he
stood by his word and said he would personally refund your money.
If the speed doesn't kill ya, the cost of the parts will!!

DooDoo, oh that's a good one. You should really be proud of that one. It's only a dead horse because either you have finally realized you can't win, you've ran out of stupid names to call people, or your hubby finally found out what you were up to and told you to drop it before you caused any more embarrassment.
Tell me Clarice.... Have we finally heard the silence of the LAMB????

Hey Voo Doo Wings here is what jetlamb35 needs to do with his DOO DOO ,in Mexico there is a Chilli you can buy ,,,you eat a bowl right before you race.. Then he can put a tube in his but and when his is running in 2nd and cant get that win he can FART but he needs to make sure the other end of the tube is in the CARB,,and hope it aint hanging out the window so he dont kill the crowd standing by the fence m in the grandsatnd,... That might give him an extra foot or to two get that win...
Win as if you are use to it.And lose as if you enjoyed

Jenlamb35 only a Joke ,,,,we are all good sports and would do anything to help each other keep racing. The people of SW Mo love open wheel racing ,they had it in Joplin Mo for many years. And at the Springfield fair Grounds back in the day from time to time. And it is clear that you all are looking for more places to race that is why you all turned out with the car count you had.. I am sure they were trying to give you a place to race that you all could count on. Maybe the time of year was the biggest problem,,,that time of year is a gamble at any track outdoors. After racing at Springfield myself i know that they will try do do you right and if you come back in March they will do whatever thay have to to make it a great place to race for you all..Maybe someone with your group could work out a date closer to the summer for next year after the March event.. If this was a regular race the people will come...THIS IS A HOT BED FOR RACING LOOK AT THE NAMES THAT HAVE CAME FROM HERE.
WE REALLY HOPE YOU ALL CAN WORK SOMETHING OUT TO COME BACK AFTER RACING AT THE SPRINGFIELD TRACK MYSELF AND BEEN AROUND RACING 45 YEARS I KNOW YOU ALL WILL BE HAPPY
Win as if you are use to it.And lose as if you enjoyed
it for a change. Its hard to get to the top and alot
