Jeff has always been known for saying exactly what he thinks. He's not wrong either. I'd love to see smaller and harder tires. I'd like for a tire to be competitive more than 1 or 2 nights too. That would save the local racers a ton of money. I'd also like to take our chances with setup and driving rather than hammer down motor deals. Maybe it'd mean less rubber down tracks too. Stock cars do it, why can't sprints?

If the goal is to save local races money, why not save everybody money and just put a compression limit on the motor's?

Because saving money by neutering the motors will create boring locked down never lift single file freight trains.
Basically the same thing you get at big tracks like Knoxville when the track is really heavy.
Only with neutered motors it will happen everywhere.
The way to save money and keep the racing in the racers hands and feet is to unhook the cars to the point that they can't use all the hp.
The engines will last longer if the cars aren't locked down and there wouldn't be a need to constantly chase more and more power out of a short block.
Sadly not many people get this idea. There are some racers that do but not many of the WoO teams are open to such as it would take away their biggest advantage over the locals at any given track.

Someone posted that "Jeff Swindell has always been know to tell it like it is" or words to that effect. I read his article every month in Sprint Car & Midget and all it ever is: how great he used to be, all the races he should have won but for trouble and all the races he should be winning, but people get in his way or he has problems. Or he talks about bro Sammy. Sammy or Jeff, every freaken article, Sammy or Jeff. A family autobiography.
Lawlessness + liberalism = HELL - NYC, Detroit, Chicago,
Seattle, LA Who the H runs those cities.

New edition of Sprint & Midget has an article about tires (I think it was Auld, but might have been Bruce Ellis).

Most people like Jeff and respect his driving and articles. Jeff is a great racer, he has had a successful career and writes a great column with a tremendous amount of insight.
Why do you complain about Jeff talking about himself. Who does Kevin Olson talk about in his column? He talks about himself and his experiences. We want the drivers to talk and write about themselves and thier experiences because most of us fans will never have that opportunity. That's why we are "fans"!
