What ever happened to youngster Trey Robb out of Oklahoma? He was a good young racer with a promising career.

I saw some photos from the Devil's Bowl race and Trey Robb's car was in a couple of the pit shots so he's still around apparently.

Thanks for the info tailtank...I remember watching him a few years back...he was driving a sprint car at the age of 12 or 13....and was hanging with the big boys. Just dont hear much about him anymore.

Trey Robb did not race at the Devil's Bowl. He did race at Cowtown the weekend before - but in an ASCS2 non-winged 600 mini-sprint. He won his heat race Fri. night and was leading the 1st B feature Sat. night - passing a lot of cars to get to the front - and then on a yellow flag restart his car lost power. I didn't get to talk with him but he has been away from racing for a while. You're right - he started racing sprints at 12 yrs. of age - having won many championships in other series leading up to sprints. He also excelled in modifieds. A great racer. I don't know but I might think that the lousy economics we have now might have something to do with him not racing (not to mention no place to race in the Okla. City area). The last part (economics, etc.) is just my conjecture - I have no idea what the facts are.

Just received info that Sam Hafertepe, Jr. and Danny Lasoski are IN for the STN...not sure which car Lasoski is in but Hafertepe will be in the familiar Plumbfast/G&H #15

Heading to my first STN, bringing my 76 yr old dad. Kid gone to college so I've found my new pasttime. Went to Winter Nats at Devils Bowl, enjoyed it , but was assured by others in the crowd that the STN are spectacular. Can't wait- go Brady!

budman88 i am sure you will have a good time, my best advice for first timers plan ahead,

not sure why but it just always seems colder than what it is bring many warm clothes, likes the type for watching football in the snow, the restrooms at this track are really bad, so try to adjust your normal dump time to before you arrive, close parking fills pretty fast friday night and early sat, go early,

the catfish dinners at the track are good, I think the best food at a track

Thanks for the info. I get off work at 7AM Thurs and plan to jump in the car and head east. Should get there early PM to check in motel and pick up tickets. Looking forward to seeing everyone. I'll definitely try the catfish, and I gather the frito-chili pies are good as well.

lake_carl, or anyone, Can you explain a little about the format for heats, qualifiers, etc? Brady's dad told me a little about it at Devils Bowl, and I found some old info from I believe 2006. I would like to have a little learnin' so we won't be totally lost on Thurs.

format, oh not sure I would be correct but this is what I think it is

bascially half the entered cars will race on thursday night, they will pill draw for starting positon

they will then run heats, most likely 5 heats where passing points are paid

since the year they split the field they somehow reset the top 50 in points to run qualifiers, with points and passing points again added to total points

think it is around the top 12 in points are set for features, and then two last chance races to fill the features

the top three are in the sat main

friday same,

sat starts same but think they also run some non qualifiers to tag the back of qualifiers and then point totals fill the main field, which is made up by the top three from thursday and friday, the top 12 in points from sat. provisonal from ascs and local, and then top in points not in show to fill the field

that might be it or completely wrong, because I miss the first many years when thrusday had 10 heats, 5 non- qualfiers, 5 qualifiers, 2 last chance and the main event then all but top three were back at if friday

Only two from Thursday night and Friday night are guaranteed a spot in the Saturday "A". There is a dash on Saturday night to set the first three rows of the "A" - two from Thursday, two from Friday and two from Saturday.

The Short Track Nationals is a passing points gig...
