I disagree and I said it in a post over the winter gravel had year last year that was outstanding and I don' think anything close will be repeated for a long time if ever the cjb team had the ball rolling for sure they were dialed in. I believe this year was a "normal" year for gravel. I believe if it weren't for the many rainouts pittman would have passed gravel in points in this late part of the season. Pittman is a better driver at this point and time will tell if gravel accomplishes when pittman has at his age. I beliieve cjb is a top 4 woo ride so his chances of success go down from here for a while anyway unless at some point he' able to land one of those top rides. Having a good ride on a good team is a big part of what makes these drivers "good" put schatz or sweet in destiny car if you think they have the same success your mistaken

I don't know what you're disagreeing with. I never said one driver was better than the other... just said it was debateable based on points standings. Both CJB and KKR are top 4 rides and Gravel has bested Pittman in the standings 2 years in a row now (assuming he stays ahead after this weekend).

2016: 9 Wins, 46 Top-5s, 68 Top-10s

2017: 18 Wins, 43 Top-5s, 68 Top-10s

2018: 5 Wins, 29 Top-5s, 52 Top-10s

I think its safe to say 2018 was a "down" year. You mentioned how important having a good team around the driver is. If I'm not mistaken I believe a few crew members left the CJB team mid season.

Now the reason I think it would be dumb is because it sounds like Gravel wants out of sprint car racing. No owner wants a different driver in the seat every season. If for whatever reason Pittman left KKR I doubt Kahne would hire Gravel knowing his intentions.
