Attn: Mark w/ XXX, could you please pass along any info. that hooka60 passed onto you. I know we're all curious to the inside scoop he has on this. Or did he not bother to contact you, like most suspect will be the case...wink

Skinner, I believe Hooka60 answers your question in the previous post.

Hooka60; to answer your question, we deal with facts and not conjecture and speculation. Fact is; we have not seen or encountered any failures with our chassis. Thus, if you have real information that is pertinent to a failure, you are doing a disservice to the racing community by not contacting us.

Thanks, Mark

I was wondering who built this chassis? This is Jayme Barnes car from the 2008 chico gold cup, man it doesnt look so hot after crashing on a 1/4mile imagine if it was on a 1/2mile? Anyone know who built this car?

Cheers!

Looks like that car took a direct hit on the downtube, which would help explain a bit of the damage. The car I posted...yes that was Zablocki, and I think it was at least 2 years ago.

Yes. That car took a big hit on top of a concrete wall. Damage like that would be expected.

A sequence of Jayme's crash can be found here:

About 2/3rd of the way through. I don't think any chassis would have faired any better.

Did anyone see the picture's of Mark Smith's car from Ocala? Pretty sharp looking car. Love the hood design, unlike some of the other ugly ones down there.

That hood on Mark Smiths chassis is from TQ FIBERGLASS in Pa. They have alot of different hoods for sprints and midgets.

Bump

Mark Smiths Mach 1 chassis have scored 4 win so far this season. 2 wins came from Mark Himself. 1 in Fla. (3 wins in the last 2 weeks)and the second one comming at Lincolns opener. The 3rd win came during the Williams Grove opener When Blane Hiembach(sp) Won the 358 Sprint race, and the 4th came this past Saturday Night when Brian Leppo won the 410 feature At Lincoln Speedway.

These chassis are the real deal, and not bad for a guy who makes everyone of them Himself.

I have a great idea on repairing XXX chassis........Send them back to China for repairs or bring their welder, "Dung Weldho" over here to make repairs.

LMAO, post of the year cheroger!

Then of course you have the"it's a global economy so deal with it" brain dead crowd. Unbelieveable! Is it any wonder the US economy is going down the tubes and jobs have been lost by the millions?

My new favorite driver is Mark Smith and I think I'll buy a T-shirt this weekend. My X-favorite (or should I say XXX) is Brian Monteith. There's 2 T-shirts and a hat I won't wear again.

There is no doubt that Mark Smith builds a fine product. These early season victories are huge in the Maxim and J & J world we live in. It looks like he has at least 8 or 9 drivers in both the 410 and 358 divisions who are running his chassis this season. But the Big Dogs ( Rahmer, Hodnett, Dewease, Pittman etc) all continue to run Maxim's, so until he can get one of the better funded teams to switch, he and his company will have to be content with the results of the last two weeks.

How many people do you think get free Maxim's or J&J's? Freebies are only good if you're on the receiving end. The average hard working racer is paying for all the freebies out there....

I hope you don't think I was implying that Rahmer, Hodnett etc are getting FREE chassis from Maxim( I don't know who gets free chassis). It's just that Maxim is the king of the hill right now and it is hard for the little chassis manufacturer to get a foot hold into the sport, so it's nice to see Mach 1 doing well. Maxim has been going strong for 20 years now, who knows how long they can keep going? But who ever thought Trostle, Nance, Gambler, and Stanton would fall by the wayside. It's a tough, tough business. Relationships with racers are almost as important as the finished product to stay on top. That is why Maxim's run is so remarkable.

I think the "big"(Leppo & Mark Smith are pretty big names in PA, and both have WoO wins) names may pay more attention than you think. Brian Leppo spent last season in a Maxim and went winless for the first season in his career since he was a rookie, when he only ran about 20 races at Lincoln. Other than mechanical trouble at the Grove last week, his other 3 runs are 9th to 4th at WG, 19th to 6th at Lincoln, and 5th to 1st at Lincoln. I GAURANTEE those other guys are noticing the early success, this is how they put food on the table, they'd be fools not to pay attention to what the competition is doing, it's their livelihood at stake. Besides, all four of those drivers listed drove a different brand chassis at some point last year (Rahmer - J&J, Hodnett - JEI, Dewease - His Own, Pittman - JEI). I think when it's your quality of life on the line, your only loyalty is to winning, not the manufacturer who you are the customer too...

I think the fact that it is a smaller company that obviously builds a very competitive product is a testament that their still is some craftsmanship left in America.

Just because someone builds more doesn't make them better. Look at the Nance, Mitchell, Trostle, Stanton, Maxwell, Schnee, Wolfweld, Jenkins, and Mach 1's of the world. That is what made America great. Someone with some vision and dedication to try and build a better product. Unfortunately the small builder has a difficult time surviving because he is the company and eventually age and mileage catches up with even the most dedicated hard working entrepreneur.

And Brian Montieth in his XXX chassis currently leads the points at Williams Grove.....ironic, ain't it?
