With the help of other posters, I have come up with..
CT. Gravel
LA. Jason Jonson
SC. Terry Grey?
MA. Crocker
KS. TBJ.
AK. Tim Gee
ME. Bently
|
Terry Grey is from Tennessee.
Tim Gee is from a whole different country.

That's a pretty good guess, but the WoO list has him from New Jersey

#4:
8 states have had just one WoO feature winner. Can you name the drivers?
Here are the states:
CN
LA
MN
SC
MA
KS
AK
ME
Some clues-
one has won The Knoxville Nationals
one has won a respectable 66 WoO features
one is from the southeast
one is probably not really living in Alaska now
one is a woman
one is a junior, like I am
one actually won in a super modified, against a whole field of them (it's weird)
one is probably this year's WoO champion
this group has 159 WoO feature wins all together
What's your guesses?
|
You guys did pretty good on this one. I only knew 4.
The answers-
Connecticut David Gravel LA Jason Johnson
MN Craig Dollanky
SC Ronnie Daniels (who?)
Massachusetts Erin Crocker
KS Tony Bruce Jr.
Alaska Bill Blalog (trivia- I was born in Alaska)
Maine Warren Bentley. This is a weird one.

The answers: Best known and lesser known racer from states that had only 2 WoO feature winners-
ND- Schatz / Dobmeier
SD- Wolfgang / Zomer
IA-Terry McCarl / Rocky Hodges
MD- Chris Eash / Jeff Sheperd
NY- Craig Keel / Lee Osborne
NM Johnny Herrera / Dub May
IL- Danny Smith / Blake Fleese
|
Correction- someone may have mentioned Carson Short. Illinois has actually had 3 WoO feature winners: Danny Smith, Blake Fleese and Carson Short.

The Warren win was the Syracuse supernationals in 78 but no outlaws were there. The Oswego supers ran this race the first several years. When and where was the Ronnie Daniels win?

I was at the Syracuse race it was run in two segments Jimmy Edwards won the first segment Warren the second in a super that looked like a piece of junk. The field was mostly central Pa URC Oswego supers and even a couple silver crown cars. Was the weirdest field I ever saw.

Brooke Tatnell lives in Minnesota and has won World of Outlaws races. I guess they always list his original home but he contributes to the local economy here in Forest Lake. That would make two with Craig.

Shhh. Let's keep that our little secret for a day or two until I ask about "Australian" drivers.

I know of Ronnie Daniels as being a CA racer, so he must have moved and won somewhere on the west coast.

How is Danny Smith from IL? Before he moved to Chillicothe, OH I had always heard and read his hometown listed as Danville, IN.

We'll that's weird. When I wrote down the info a week ago, it showed Danville Illinois. Now it shows Chillicothe Ohio. I think I'm looking at the same list, but I'm currently doubting my sanity.
