Next year, I am going to Tulsa for Monday through Saturday pole shuffle.  Then I am driving back to Michigan, showering, and watching the A live on MAVTV.  If I hit traffic just right, I might be home in time to see the last of the 13 replays of the B and C they show before before the A, when I get home.

In a year when no one could go and everyone had to stay home and watch, they sure laid an egg.  That has made everyone watching think racing is absolutely stupid and boring to watch since there is 23 minutes of nothing for every minute of racing.  Huge oppotunity wasted.

After watching the truck and mortified driving around Bristol this morning, it wasn't very fast.  Yes, I know what they weren't, but still unimpressive.  Apparently that was invite only as well.

He said no sprint cars "in" Tennessee, not "from" TN.  I think everyone knows there are drivers from TN.  He was referring to no 410 series running in TN, no tracks running 410's in the ares, hence, thus, therefore, no locals would be "defending their turf" from the Outlaws.

Whatever. You read it differently. Sammy and Kevin's cars are both IN Tenn. lmao He did not say series in his first sentence. I'm gonna drop this.

Yep, I echo some of you that are saying the Sat program of the Chili Bowl needs work.  They have to understand the audience they have (/want) that is online now, and it is very drawn out.  I wouldn't shed a tear of the parade was nixed.  Things need to evolve, and just tacking on extra days at the beginning of the week isn't the only evolution... trim the back end too.

No problem.  I had just taken his post in the context of the conversation that was laid out earlier about the Outlaws invading another series' track and trying to beat the locals.  I think his intent was to say there was no real 410 series for the Outlaws to invade, hence the invite only status.  I doubt anyone on this forum is not aware of the drivers from TN that have made a name for themselves nationally.

I get your side as well.  Have a good day.

The crate garbage on bristol was a joke. Did anyone see Strickler and Bloomquist getting around the place yesterday. Average speed 128 MPH. That's hauling a**. I can't imagine what the sprint cars are going to do. Corner entry speed has to be unreal. The joint mite be to fast. Reaction times will need to be really sharp.

What were the speeds in 2000 for the sprints? I know they were fast but I can't remember the actual figure.

True.  That was on pavement with all of the banking with a pavement winged sprint car.

With the speeds, that fence doesn't look like much. What keeps a sprint car out of the stands?

Everybody's going to say cup cars have hit the fench. They don't go thru it. Yea, and a cup car cage is built to take a hit like that. A sprint car is not. A car gets launched into one of those main support fence rails a sprint car cage isn't built to take a hit like that. Seat mounting has to be a concern on everyone's part. Sprint car or late model.

Well other than the obvious,  it's a NASCAR track they spend millions of dollars on track safety., and if you thank the track is to fast for sprint cars... well apparently the people in charge disagree.

I'm not saying the track is too fast for sprints. I'm looking at the video up above that shows a winged asphalt sprint going 150 mph. We know that spints tend to fly higher than NASCAR cars in a flip. I don't rember the races from last time at Bristol. Were there some scary crashes?

They built the inside of the track up so that they could take banking out. There theory,  less banking, less speed. How's that worked out ? Guys were breaking wheel centers out of both LR and RR wheels. That invite list for the sprint cars doesn't have to be to high because I think some will say no thank you.

There is footage of some crashes that used to be out there.  They were vicious looking wrecks.  Bristol is the kind of place where something like a wing mount breaking under the stress of those speeds is all it takes for all hell to break loose.  I don't plan on getting PPV for that one because the possibilities haunt me.  I don't want to see it, I just want to read that it was a safe race weekend.

I went down there for the first event and yes there were some scary crashes, I don't remember of anyone being injured badly though. One of the Chesson kids flipped down one of the straights and the car was completely wadded up,  same with Lance Blevins too. I have some good picsof some crashes, it seemed like they took forever. It was a fast joint and if you crashed you probably junked a car. Me and my bud were sitting about 30 rows up from the flag stand in front of an old lady and her friends, it was Sammy's Mom. Sammy kinda made an ass out of himself on the front stretch and we were busting on his mom and their friends. Well his mom kept telling us "You wait, you wait and see, he is going to win". She was right and me and my pal were eating southern crow that night

REALLY!!! Do you truly believe if it was that dangerous they would allow it to take place.
