Could be do to husets, could be due to sturgis could be due to a peaceful protests or unpeaceful rioting or college partying. you don't counter shit, you just make yourself look foolish. Stay home and watch the races on the tube and quit crying that you are afraid to go to the races.

I'm not crying about it at all. I have other things to do...

What a travesty that race was! Haud won cause he was the FIRST to blow a tire????

I agree with JJRfan: " Should've just dropped the open red and let them change their tires midway"

I don't know much about track prep, but WTF???

Love how they took the lap back completed by Larson whenever Sweet blew his tire. Yellow was dropped after the leader completed a lap, but they reset so Don-Don and Logan could be put back on the lead lap. Meanwhile Gravel blows a tire in the middle of 3/4 and they don't drop the yellow until he's dead man rolling in Turn 1. Seriously WoO, what the fuck? Didn't we learn from Charlotte last year? Should've just dropped the open red and let them change their tires midway through. They knew the tires were burning off because you could see it. That race was not entertaining at all, and was more of a safety hazard than anything. Also, shoutout to Logan for nearly bowling through an entire crew in the pits. Should've parked his ass for that, last thing we need is for someone to get seriously hurt by someone driving through the pits wrecklessly over some points.

As was clearly stated multiple times, all cars need to complete the lap before the yellow for it to count

Yeah, that was frickin' brutal to watch.   As if the 360 feature wasn't bad enough, I should have went to bed then.  I'm a Sheldon fan and glad he got another win, but that was a joke.   What's next?   Scheduled cautions like NASCAR has so everybody can check tire wear???

Pittman was the first to blow his tire. Also Haud wasnt just fortunate to be one of the earliest, he literally led for most of the race.

I always find it amusing that a lot of people seem to forget Sheldon was pretty good on the dust bowls they call tracks in Ohio. He loves banging the cushion but he can roll the bottom with some of best.

I knew when people were smoking RR with 20+ laps to go it was going to be an issue. Then you knew it was ut-oh time when a driver like Pittman pops one with 13 laps left and limited access for cars to duck off the track.

It's possible Pittman knew what was coming and intentionally used his tire up to be the first to change. Macedo said he specifically did that in his interview.

Anyone know why a penalty was assessed on D Scelzi after the race last night?

He commented on twitter that he won't be running any WOO races for the rest of this year because of it, but didn't say what the penalty was for. He indicated it was for "no reason". I'm sure they have a reason and that he just disagrees with it.

Whatever it was must not bother him after a night's sleep as he's drawn in for tonight (group 3 in flight 1)

Saturday nights tire popping fiasco convinced me to continue my 250 mile social distance from Husets.  Spending four hours in front of the TV watching a 360 crash fest and the tire burner that followed vs a $350 weekend trip to Brandon validated my descision.  I have attended a few down there over the years and saw good racing so I knew the tire fiasco was an anomaly but would have felt like lighting fire to $100's to have gone down there.

Sunday night didn't see a lap turned until a full hour after start time and was another late night.  Kyle Larson won again which is cool in some ways but I'm starting to question why the rest of the top teams are unable to tame him.  They do this for a living so while it makes Larson look good it's got to be frustrating for drivers and crew chiefs to not be able to stop him.  They will figure out how to move the show along but in hind sight things might have gone smoother if the had run a couple local shows to work out the bugs before tackling a big show.  Their first race went well but I seem to recall that one dragging a bit but not a big deal for me because I have the option of turning it off and going to bed.

The racing weekend ended up being OK but it was a struggle to stay awake and I had to bail out before the Sunday 360 Feature.   Twenty years ago I might have drove down there, took photos all night and did a red-eye drive home and pulled in the driveway at 6am.  That's how I used to roll before old age set in and I stepped aside to let younger race chasers beat their heads against that tree without me.  It used to be an addiction so I consider PPV my recovery routine.

I've never seen the track at Husets turn out ok without fender cars running. The late models run the track in and widen it out for the sprints. I think having them as a support class would have helped the track setup this weekend.

The most recent post that started this hubbub wasn't political at all, it was medical data. i didn't even say anything, just copied & pasted. Here it is again. Pay attention:

Any thoughts I might have had about attending a favorite late season race were elimiated by my wife.  In a marriage both have to be on board and she isn't comfortable with me going so PPV it is.  She looks at the empty stands at  televised sports events and doesn't get how dirt track racing can proceed with crowds.  Consequently, it's PPV through the end of the year which I am perfectly content with.

Husets had a tough night on Saturday and late start on Sunday but if a person watches dirt track racing long enough they'll see tough nights and late starts.  After all, it's an outdoor sport where much like a farmer track prep crews look at the the track, look at the forecast and make an informed decision based on past experience.  I don't think anybody would want to see the track in limbo again and they will knock it out of the park with great shows again.  I remember one time my son and I made the trip to Jackson and a hauler knocked out the lights on a beautiful night with the pits full of cars.  Stuff happens beyond their control sometimes and Saturday was one of those nights.

Saturday night was a tough deal all around, there were storms nearby and it got really windy and the track got a about a 45 minute blow job that really dried it out, cannot really fault the track for weather shenanigans. Yes in hindsight they probably should have run the WoO feature before the 360s.

Sunday in an attempt to avoid a Saturday repeat they over-watered, but all in all I thought the racing Sunday was very good.

I had heard a few other people in the stands allude to running street stocks as a support class as they have at outlaw shows for decades, maybe there is some truth to that theory.

I am just happy to have some good racing and big events to attend within 15 miles of my house.

There's nothing worse than a 45 minute dry....   Oh, never mind, I will only get myself in more trouble.

Well well well. All the hubbub about husets. They get bought and have a 2 day woo race, and they blow it. RR tires were the order of the day  Saturday. Sunday's  race wasn't much better with track conditions being what they were.  I expected more, O well.

Certainly not giving up on them putting things together in less than a month.  I do hope they can run tighter shows on Sunday nights though, the Jackson Nationals always seem to take some time to run off too.  They seem to have a ton of equipment, just need to get a rhythm down.

Agree with what some others have said, running a street stock class may help too.

Yeah  - and add up all the money he's won that others didn't  - PA, All Stars, WoO. I'm thinking at least $200K by now that didn't get spread around at least a little bit. It has to have made quite a difference in some bank accounts.

I was happy when PA speedweek was over and Larson went home - thinking the locals might be able to make some money now.

and, yeah, you're right, I didn't think this way in 1985 Smile
