Been thinking about this for a few days.  Can't  work. Gotta appreciate his out of this world thinking. First I dont think you would find 18 people who realistically would want to own this track. I know we all pipe dream the thought but who really wants to give up their secure job and take these chances? If you found 18 a very small percentage would have 200G. Of that small percentage you would find very few who would risk it on a gamble. Of that tiny percentage you need to find some that either own or race a 410 sprint car. By now we are talking a very small number.

I think the man could benefit from bouncing these ideas off experienced race promoters who could tweak it back to functional , but I know that lack is the reason we are where we are. If he could find a sober mind to work with this place could stay open with crazy special events.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

HMMMM - just thinking how funny it would be if Tod (Jackson) and Knoxville (Marion County) would secretly conspire and put the money up for the 18 drivers. Then after the race was over and all the proper legal paper work was done it was announced they were the new owners.

I think it's funny how ever month or so chunk and company have to come up with a new scam or threat so that he can stay in the news.

Tony Stewart, Donny Schatz, Aaron Reutzel, Kyle Larson, Carson Macedo, Daryn Pittman, David Gravel, Gio Scelzi, Christopher Bell, Kasey Kahne, Brad Sweet, Brian Brown, Mark  Dobmeir, Terry McCarl, Kerry Madsen, Shane Stewart, Rico Abreu and Robert Bell.  $400,000 for Stewart, Larson and Kahne is chump change for them.

It's too bad that when the WoO redid their website, they killed a bunch of historical stats. I'd love to know how many drivers had seasons where they made $200K in purse+points winnings in the past 10 years. My guess is a small amount of drivers who have done it multiple times.

Can’t we just give Chuck the benefit of the doubt for once? Haha

I've kind of wondered why some of the people who have been rumored to "invest" or inquire to purchase the speedway have not done this already. Not sure who it was but wasn't someone offering $1.5 or $2 million for it at one point but Chuckles said no because he felt it was worth $9 million?

I am not sure what the track proximity is to other tracks as I know some on here have talked about other tracks around the Sioux Fall region but I wonder if said individual(s) were able to get something together it may make it impossible for Chuckie to sell Husets. Of course with his price and terms he is almost making it impossible anyway and part of me feels he is doing it on purpose out of spite because his feelings got hurt. But I almost think that if someone decided to build a track it would probably take the fun out of the track plus couldn't the county pull the permit from him again as they did last year when he did not remember to renew it?

Kind of a risk as if he does sell it for "pennys" on the dollar to him then that individuals investment is basically gone. At the same time if the person is successful then that still means the end for Husets but at this point I think the people in that area would take it, given all the B.S that has happened. I think the attachment to racing would over match the attachment to the track despite its history and prestige in the sport given the circumstances

Easy for you to say....

I seriously doubt ANY of these teams will go for it

I know that with the Lucas Late models 4 went over 200,000 last year with Earl Parson Jr. earning 350,000+

But how much did they have left after expenses?  Who could gamble an entire seasons worth of winnings with a 14 to 4 chance of losing it all? And only a 2 in 16 chance of getting half of it back. Remember, Sammy lost the Kings Royal and the Nationals because of flat tires. It would take a lot of guts to risk that much money when everyone knows anything can happen in racing.

If you have that much money and want to gamble big time put it on one number of the roulette wheel. One spin & if you win you have 7.2 million.

Whose got the $200,000 entry fee to gamble with? Maybe someone who’s rich, but nobody whose wealthy. There’s a difference. Those who are wealthy don’t throw money around Willy Nilly and the DON’T gamble on things that don’t have a certain known outcome.

Well there you go. That might be just enough to buy a racetrack.

#26... 17 to go

Just remember, Chuck has posted lies before. Like his 1st schedule that had 4 NSL races and the WoO race he advertised that he never had a contract for.

Since someone else brought it up, I wonder what the deal is with the conditional use permit issued by the county to the track. I know that it basically permits you to use your property for something outside of what it is zoned for. My understanding is that if you don't use it, you lose it. So, do you think Chucky will have to run a race this year? Brandon is a fairly wealthy community and the track isn't necessarily popular with the people in town. It's really loud and if you're not a fan it's just annoying. I wouldn't be surprised if he screws that up and the people in town band together and get that permit pulled.

He had a fireworks display in March.

Hes been out of the news for a month or 2 now and wanted people to start talking about him again so they came up with something to make people talk. Thats all I see with this. 18 teams will never gamble on a race like that for $200k unless its something like Points said where they all team up for it. Im not going to get too excited about this actually happening since Chuckles never actually follows through with any of these plans.

Exactly. I laughed when I saw the story where he put the Huset's signs back up the other day and his reasoning was so it was easier for the new owners to take over.

The guy's a total jack wagon. Surprised I haven't heard about his Twitter account.

If memory serves me a few of the top teams driver earnings are in the $200k range but that's the winnings before taxes and the owner takes their share.  Driving a Sprint Car for a living in the eyes of this casual oberver appears to be a good way to work 24/7 February through October for an average salary and a small measure of fame with a niche audience.  wink
