Now I like that. Just as I thought - you can highlight what you want to quote, copy and paste it on your response... so that problem of the entire post quoted is taken care of (and I am not by any means a computer person. In fact, I don't understand most of this string's comments).
Did "Uncle A" get this picture from I-30 Speedway? Gotta love it.
Thanks for/to Hoseheads.

one cool thing would be a +/- button to rate a post (or a thumbs up or thumbs down, whatever you'd like), and when a post reaches a certain low level of rating (whichever is set) it automatically gets hidden. You can have the option to show it...That way, you choose whether you want to read people's garbage or not. I've seen this on other boards/forums and thought it was a nice idea.

The Firefox version of the site seems to be not working correctly. I can't make a post using Firefox - I have to go into Internet Explorer (grr) to do that.

Firefox does not work - which sucks
also - in IE when you click on the "last post" icon in an "anchor thread" - it dumps you out on the entry page...and does not function like a regular thread.

I too am unable to post since the latest FireFox version 3.6 even took the new 3.6.2 update and still no go. I don't even have a real IE version on my puter - had to go to "My Computer" and use Explorer to post this ...
In FF the text entry box is totally blank with none of the "tools" visible ... any attempt at text entry is useless ....
Is there a good reason why HH is running this "custom made" MB software instead of something more usual (and immensely more functiohal) such as VBulletin?
BTW - I absolutely despise IE and refuse to install it ... FWIW ...

The reason we run a custom solution is so we won't get hacked.
VBulletin and all the other open source message boards get hacked all the time. Just Google it.
FireFox's latest version has broken the posting text box. Firefox doesn't always follow the standards.
For a quick fix you can use our dialup page if you have FF http://www.hoseheadforums.com/forumDU.cfm?forumId=1 It uses a std HTML text box.

OK - the dialup works but with even less functionality ...
I think I recall you mentioning the hacking issue before - now that you mention it ... but I've been going to many VB boards for years and none of them have been hacked ... that I know of anyways - if they did it didn't hurt them that I could tell. Ironic ... but security is the reason I run FireFox and despise IE ...
Any way you could change the text entry box to work with FF? ... somehow the other boards work OK with the latest FF.
PS - Thanks for making this place - it's still my favorite racing MB warts and all ...

OK - apparently dialup with FF ignores paragraphs and runs everything together.
Also - the edit function doesn't work ... so I'm going to try an html paragraph tag and see if it works ...
And now a break tag.
TEST
Oh yeah and smiley's don't work either ...

OK - break and paragraph tags work -- but when I hit the edit button it goes to a text box but I can't change the text .... no cursor just like the broadband board.
Evidently the edit text box is coded different than the original post box?

Google Chrome (IMO the best browser on this planet) has issues with this forum too. I can post, but it is in plain text with no paragraph breaks or smilies.

When you add a picture in the editor just grab the image and resize it to what ever size you want. You can also resize it in the image editor when you upload it.

Thanks Jeff - you da man!
Any idea why anchored threads' "go to last post" button instead go to the forum home?

I'm new and an easterner. Not sure where this site originates but I'm thinking midwest (not that that matters). But I might suggest a separate forum section to post pics similar to the pixel palace section of this forum:

Any possibility of some type of "contest" for free tickets to races?
Get series to sponsor it with four free tickets to the race.
Might be hard to do though....as you could have someone out here in Cali in a contest for tickets to a FAST race.
Just a thought....I would think in the age of puters you guys could come up with something!
thanx

I've asked this before, but I would like to be able to select what part of a post I want to quote. I don't always want to reference someones 50 sentence post, just a portion of it.
Also, Google Chrome support. Chrome doesn't like this forum too much.

Agreed....Google Chrome support! Safe mode is a pain in the ass!
