So, I don't know which one disappoints me more.   A track not paying a points fund check because they chose not to attend a banquet, or a president of a sanctioning body getting on the internet and getting into a pissing match with his fans.   Calling people ignorant over this is pretty sad.   Since I don't live near either one of this groups, it does not impact me, but if I did I would boycott two groups.

I think everyone should boycot everything until there is nothing left to boycot and then everyone can whine about not having anything left to boycot.  I'm going to boycot people who boycot stuff.

I don't normally get in the middle of these things but since I know the story here it is.. We did tell limaland that we where racing and that we would not be at the banquet.. I undersrand everyone has rules but its not like we where sitting at home.. So after some talks and sit downs with the attorney we decided to ask limaland to donate our winnings to make a wish charity under our names and it was a no.. The situation with Lima is they would rather lose drivers then to work things out.. Every one has their own decisions to make.Money or no money we felt it was worth it to race the Trophy Cup!! Let me tell you I don't regret it one bit.. Keep my money u greedy bastards because I didnt buy this car to sit in my shop. I'm going racing and that's the fact jack!!!

Just my 2 cents:  Local racing in this area is done for the year. Randy, Shawn and Jeff Babcock (modified driver) knew before going racing that they weren't going too get paid.  They DECIDED to go racing.  Apparently they aren't worried about the money otherwise they would of showed up to collect the money.  Also, some of the points money was from NRA which is not associated with Limaland,do they have the same banquet rule?  Maybe instead of boycotting Limaland, everyone should donate to Make A Wish and support Randy  if you believe that's why he was racing. Limaland has the best points fund around as they shelled out over $68,000, so expecting drivers to show up is understandable.

You must be affilated with Limaland. Though it's none of your business, I make my donations to charity through the Combined Federal Campaign where I work. Hard to defend Limaland when both Randy and Shawn notified them months in advance they were racing the TC. Right is right. These two teams put three quality cars in the Limaland pits each Friday night, and these guys deserve their point fund. Gas City, here I come!

Does anybody know if Andy Forsburg ended up getting his money from the Outlaws?

Limaland why did you think you needed to pick this fight?  I live 10 miles away and have enjoyed the racing at Limaland, and I've been everywhere from Knoxville to NC to watch sprint cars.  My gut tells me you think you are special, you are the boss, you set the rules (no exceptions).  I'm sure Limaland will move on, but you have pi**ed off alot of race fans who truely support the racers and car owners that keep us coming week in and week out.  If I'm missing something please let me know.

did I just read a brain fart from people b!tching about "money not being paid" and then ask for a free lunch at a banquet?

...welcome to welfare racing folks!

I say it every week at the track...no matter how much a car sucks on the track, it takes way too much money and time for teams to do this...and I am very glad I can still afford a friggin ticket.

I never attended a race banquet...perhaps the rahmer retirement speech at this year's grove deal will finally change that.

and as Faster than U said above...nothing is stopping any money grubbing whiners from sending Hannagan or anyone else a donation...and a "thanks for comin out".

If it were Rahmer who was missing out on points money because he was racing somewhere else, you'd be having a fit.  SMH.

For what it's worth, Skagit Speedway also had their Awards Banquet the Saturday night of Trophy Cup. I believe there were 3 drivers in the top 10 in 410 points and 1 in top 10 in 360 points that forfeited their winnings to race Trophy Cup.

I just can't see why they wouldn't wait until November or January to hold the banquet. This promoter knew what he was doing.

At $2k for making the A main, I'm sure a good percentage of racers were making the gamble they could make the show. But I still think it's wrong not to pay them what they earned.

Yes, and most of them could have used that small point fund money to get tires, etc to race at the same track next year that won't pay them for their services this year..so really doesn't make much sense to not pay the people putting on the show. Whatever.
