I think its a good deal and well be watching fast or slow if all the truck are running around the same pace well be good racing if you ahve 3 or 4 that run away with it would be a different deal but I think it well be good race , I agree if you don't like it then don't watch. racing is racing at what ever speed if you are a true race fan it just doesn't matter I am a die hard outlaw sprint fan but I well watch any kind of racing is there some I am not a huge fan of sure but I give them and there fans the respect they deserve for doing something they love.

I'm not complaining, will definitely be watching. All I'm saying is that I'm surprised they didn't decide to slightly alter the rules for this one event. The truck series rules are written with asphalt racing in mind. Would have made sense to make a few minor tweaks, without going nuts and forcing the teams to spend a bunch of money. I mean, for example, they running special tires, yes? So it's Ok to tweak the tire rule, but nothing else? Doesn't make sense to me.

It would be a much better race with some moisture in the dirt. I can't get excited watching these guys going 80 miles an hour around the track!
|
If the track was "heavy" they wouldn't be able to see out the winshield in about 5 laps. They may be only going 80 MPH but I can assure you the drivers are gonna be pretty busy with the steering wheel and the pedals. This won't be won with the stomp and steer method or who spent the most money. A DRIVER is gonna win this show tonight. Personally I'll be rooting for Kenny Schrader. I'd love to see the ole boy get one more. He looked pretty racey in practice last night.

150 laps with the best in the business, pathetic you say, bah humbug dude...look outside your box maybe...
|
Best in WHAT business? If any of the napcar truck series regulars were the "best in the business" they would not be IN the truck series.

It was a bad decision to keep the windshields! There's no windshields in dirt track racing! Well I will be watching tonight to see what happens.

They were racing stock cars with windshields on dirt way before they put barn doors on the top of sprint cars.... Zero for the zero on that one.

I love that they are calling this the "Mudsummer Classic" and there is no mud anywhere. But I do think it is pretty cool they are racing on dirt.

I'm all for trying new stuff and i think this was a neat concept I just wish sit wasn't at the expense of that 10k to win 50 lap USAC show they ran on this weekend last year for this donkey show. Remember when the inside of the frontsretch wall had the words painted......'Eldora - Home of the Sprint'?
Please sing with me a little Simon & Garfunkel.
And here's to you Earl Baltes.....
Sprint car fans love you more than you will know (wo,wo,wo)
Come back please, Earl Baltes.....
Eldora holds a place for those who race (hey hey, hey)
Where have you gone, Earl Baltes.....
Sprint car fans turn their lonely eyes to you (woo, woo, woo)
Whats that you say, Earl Baltes.....
Sprint car racings' left and gone away.....(hey,hey,hey.......
|
If I am not mistaken, in the late '50's and throughout the '60's ARCA Stock Cars and USAC Stock car division raced at Eldora. The cars had windshields, incorporating a contiuous windshield wiper and water to cleanse the windshield.

Well heat races and the "B" Main are over. So far it sort of reminds me of MOST WoO races. Dry slick track and follow the leader. Only thing missing is the wing on top! I did love the bnaging with Nor Binning and the 68 truck. The guy in the 68 deserves a black eye!

All I am saying is that if the track was a regular dirt track with clay or dirt flying ; or dirt flying around it would be a lot better racing; not this locked down rubber over track !
