Next year , free cigarette butts to use for ear plugs for the loud race cars and loud fans.Maxi pads to put over your face and nose because of the fumes ,nasty dust, and dirt those nasty smokers and race cars put off. And blinders so you dont have to put up with anyone having fun or bad racing you might encounter! Problem corrected!!!

Dude, I get it that you are a drinker and partier - good for you. Blows me away that you really feel people should have to put up with the BS from the drunks!  How old are you anyway?  I loved to raise hell when I was younger, but then, strangely enough, I grew up. I realized at some point I was resposnsible for my own actions, and those actions affect other people.

What is so wrong about wanting to take my wife, friends, nephew - whoever, to a race and not expect to have deal with drunk, obnoxious people?  Seriously brother, what is wrong with that?  Why are you busting my balls because I'm apparently the problem?  You're the problem - you STAY HOME - I guarantee you, you'll make a lot of people that would have had to put up with your BS happy if you do! If you can't handle your alcohol, STAY HOME (or passed-out in your tent or camper).  Next year, free muzzles so we don't have to hear year, and free buckets for you to barf in (you know, to keep you from barfing on the people near you).

You get the award for idiot of the year.

I see a lot of complaints about drunks, lowlifes, jerks, morons, etc. I guess I do not understand what has happened to you here that made you never want to go back. Can you be more specific? Maybe I care way too much but I have a feeling that some of you are just overreacting and complaining just to complain. Can someone provide some examples of what happens and how often it happens to ruin your Kings Royal experience? Maybe it will help me understand why you feel so strongly about it…

I can tell you what happened to a family that sat near us a few years back...the fellas on the top row were plowed before hot laps...and I mean f-ing plowed. one guy was teetering the entire time and eventually puked down over the man, wife and kids.

this was turn three in one of the middle sections...just off to our left.

the cops are present, but they are only seem to be looking for fights and have no interest in the activities that lead up to a fight...like this punk that should have had his ass kicked.

Ok your gonna start calling me names and a drunk now,,,,you sure are showing your maturity! Nobody should have to or has to put up with drunk idiots period,,,get it. The KR this year is my 23rd straight. Ive been to the grove,Knoxville,Nor cal tracks and everything in between and have seen people drinking and having fun at all these tracks and I would say Kville,Williams Grove and some of the Cali tracks as wild or wilder than the Royal. If someone is getting out of line do something about it . What I am saying is you are wrong singling out the Royal for your issues. I have no issues with the KR and I will be back next year! You do have issues with the KR so do something about it or STAY HOME Pal!

I disagree that attendance has increased. I would say it peaked in the late 90's/early 2000's, and started to drop. I would say it has remained the same the last several years. At one point it was a solid group of people from turn 3 to turn 2, you couldn't see any grass in 1 and 2!

I agree with PHJIndy, the purse is overdue to be increased. I am willing to pay more for a ticket and more for my pizza burger! And waiting until the driver interviews were over for the 50/50 was ridiculous! I didn't have as long a drive as you,  but still didn't get out of the shower til 2:15 AM after getting home!

We didn't get home until after 3AM!

It's hard to tell if the crowds have increased because there are stands where there were just lawn chair spots years ago.

I haven't been back since 1987 when "fans" were keying race trailers as they entered the property because they didn't like certain drivers (saw MULTIPLE drunken idiots take their keys out of the pockets and scratch up the side of Kinser, Swindell, Mark Kinser, Gaerte, Dave Blaney and Jacobs (driving for Wiekert) as they haulers pulled down the road to get into the pits.

I've personally NEVER seen that type of behavior anywhere except @ Eldora.  I now have a 10 year old son, and Eldora isn't even on our radar of attending.  Maybe the Grove, maybe Charlotte someday, maybe Florida, but probably never Eldora as long as common decency and sense isn't in use there.

I have...... Ever been to Kokomo. It happens all the time. Hell they even go as far as to steal stuff out of the drivers trailers there. I know people who have had there vehicles dented up and stuff stolen from the parking lot. Sooooo I'm calling out your BS. I have been to the Big E for a lot of races there and never had what you're saying happened. But Kokomo it happens quite often.

Those stands that were full of people in turns 1 and 2 never used to be there actually that is where they parked all the motor homes. And you still have all the lawn chairs as always. Them stands are holding alot more people then the motor homes were on the top of the hill.

Sooooooo, you're calling him out, eh? It was probably your car that got keyed at Kokomo. They know a dipshit when they see one.

Yep!  A good ol ass-kickin would have added to the family atmosphere.

some peoples kids are more annoying/obnoxious to me than drunks and some are even more unruly...but would that keep me from going to the track? yeah right, that's kids being kids at the track, the same as some drunks are going to be drunks at the track...it's been this way forever and the majority of people obviously can tolerate it without being "personally offended"..

you don't want your young child to hear curse words? home school them and keep them away from the dirt track until they are old enough to hear certain words... i'm 30 years old...i've witnessed and heard just about everything imagineable at dirt tracks growing up...and i turned out fine... so what's really the problem?

And it was in fact the family that was ready to take care of that...cooler heads prevailed when the cops found a safer spot for him to puke himself silly..

The difference here being kids are kids and the drunks are adults and should know better. Been going to Eldora for 50 years, can easily remember when there was no seating other than the frontstretch grandstand. We're talkin the no roll cage days here folks. Foyt , Andretti, the Unser brothers, Carter, Dixon, ya get it? I can also remember when even the folks who liked to drink were well mannered, thoughtful of the people around them, would correct themselves or one of their own who might be getting a little carried away. Not much of that anymore. I put up with it now cause I still love the racin but that don't make it right and it does at times take away from the enjoyment of the show. An earlier poster had it right when he said it's the "FU generation". Yeah I know about the no alcohol sections and all that. Ask me it's a shame they even have to have them. You should be able to sit anywhere on the grounds you want and not worry about it. Why should buying my ticket be a crap shoot over whether my wife and I end up surrounded by a crowd who can't control themselves cause they're boozed up. That's the one thing nobody should have to worry about. A guy oughta be able to buy tickets to the race track for his wife and kids and not give a thought about this sort of thing and believe it or not it used to be just that way. Ah, the good old days when even the lowlifes among us maintained our honor and decency. Still like a drink myself, time to time, but I'd be truly disappointed with myself if I carried on the way some of my fellow fans do when they're out in public. Even when I was younger. This is not a "good time" it's a lack of respect for themselves and everyone around them. Wanna get plowed, thats fine go ahead, but getta grip.
