Marysville is my local track and I enjoy going to the 360 races, but I got to admit I can never hear the announcer! Is there any chance of getting a better PA system? In addition to not having a score board it makes it hard to hear the drivers names and what is going on.

More seats and also an overhang would be a big improvement especially on those hot summer evenings with the sun baking on my face. Marysville is one of the only tracks that faces North so you get the hot sun setting in the West before the sun goes down! I plan to be at the first race of the year on March 2nd!

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the

Score Board is on the way, should be in place by the 4th or 5th race weekend. PA system is brand new. The walls all around the track bounce the sound of the cars back at the crowd, I'm still working on it. The exact same system in the pits works great. An overhang WOULD be great but I'm skirting my grandfather on zoning pretty close already. that would be a pretty obvious change that wasn't there in 68. Mabe a removable shade atructure like we put in at Gauche park could do it. Our capitol outlay is pretty well committed for the next 3 years but mabe after that. thanks for your input. If you see a fat dirty guy prowling the track, stop me and say HI...paul

Awesome news about the improvements! I agree about the shade structure like at Gauche Park! I will say hi next time I see you at the races!

I also wanted to comment on the original question of "is it worth going to Nevada?"

The last time I went to the track in Fernley was when the GSC was racing there in May of 2006 I believe. We made a weekend of it and had a great time at the casinos in Reno and then drove up to the track on Saturday. I think it only took about 30 minutes to get there and the track is located in a scenic part of Nevada if you like a deserts. The track was a good size and there was lots of seating. I think they even had the seats from the Squaw Valley Olympics. There were also bbq pits that could be used to keep everyone warm during the night. Cars were able to park outside the fench in turn 2 and 3 but you have to come early to get those spots. No mufflers are required so it amazing to hear how loud they are compared to racing in CA. The best thing of all is there is no curfew! There was an intermission and some of the drivers brought their cars out so the kids could meet the drivers and sit in the car. There were a few food vendors and I remember the food being pretty good. The racing was good but I remember that by the end of the night the track did try out a little which is typical for tracks everywhere. I have good memories of going to a race in Fernley and I really want to go again this year. I would recomend getting your room early and even trying to book in room in Fernley because I know there are a few hotels close by. The way I look at it I will go to any track once and check it out and then go from there. Smile
