Coming from California. Our first year was Kraig Kinser's win (2005 or 2006?) and we missed it because of the rain out. Had plane tickets that couldn't be changed and had to fly home. The airport had a few sprint car t-shirts like ours. Long faces. Very funeral-like as we waited for that flight. Met Newt Gingrich in the security line that day. Took my mind off the race we were missing...for about 5 minutes. Then the depression came back. As far as my kids are concerned, Disneyworld has nothing on Iowa! The 25 meter pool talk is funny to us. My kids finish swim season Sunday, and we fly in Tuesday. Closest they will let me get them to a 25 meter pool is the water park at Adventureland! 2012 will be TK or Shane.

Coming from Des Moines for all 10 nights, bringing the girlfriend for her first ever. She had never even heard of sprint cars until we met took her to her first race at Knoxville for the season opener earlier this year, and she has been there every week since.

I'm coming for my second time, on my way home to Colorado from visiting Mom on East Coast. Considering Belleville Midget Nationals first, depending how tired of driving I am (2-300 miles bactracking) Weather was beautiful last year after awesome thunderstorm, guessing it will be pretty toasty this year....

Where you from in Colorado?? I lived in Greeley for a few years.

Only 83 miles from my place to the track. I'll be there for my 26th 410 Nationals and the other 6 nights as well. I've been to every 360 Nationals since they started it and all the Osky shows too.

Doing my 15th year in a row and looking forward to it just as I have the last 14 years. 6 hour drive from S.E. Wisconsin, and spending the week at Marion County Campground - along with all the other fun festivities. Safe travels all, and can't wait to see you all at Knoxville!

Just to be different I am not going this year (but getting the first pangs of envy) as I have swapped Knoxville for the Olympics, so am consoling myself with the thought of the team GB basketball team wupping the USA team in the gold medal game plus tickets to 12 other events. (and the fact that that I managed most of the WSS series in Australia).

Heres to an exciting but safe Nationals with best of luck to all the drivers, pit crew, safety staff and officials, extra special luck to Davey Hesketh and Brooke Tatnell.

I am relying on Hoseheads to keep me up to date with considered and unbiased reviews and opinions on all the events.

I will return next year with my lovely new wife,

Cheers

Mike

I'd swap Kville for the Olympics too, that sounds like a once in a lifetime opportunity to me (it would be for me, it'd take a lifetime to pay the bills associated with the travel, lodging, tickets, souvenirs, etc..)

Bit like me and the Nationals - but hey the olympics last 19 days - if you count the soccer which starts early - so as the nationals only last 4 days I can go 5 times!!

Flying from the Detroit airport with Tommy Bahama. He lives near Eldora and I live near Toledo. The 1 hour and 15 minute flight beats the hell out of 13 hours of driving. This is my 13th or so and about 18 for Tommy B.

Coming on the 5th thru the 12th.

No big ass Iowa thunderstorms either please! Can't wait!

I live right in Knoxville and I am going to all 10 days. I just wish Knoxville wouldn't of let the non-wing race go but it is what it is.

I don't think Knoxville let it go, sounded like USAC didn't want to be second fiddle to the 360's is what I heard and they pulled the plug.

I personally think USAC is counting on IA Speedway to be their "feather in the cap" every year (if no more people show up then the Midget and Silver Crown race I attended, I don't see them being at that track much longer) and think they are a HEADLINER no matter where they race

What's the odds of the FRC getting over before 2:00 AM now that USAC has been added to Monday's show??

My first was the 50th, but with family and work

committments, we won't be back until next year. frown

Loved every minute of the 50th (even though it was hotter n hell), but a hot weather Nationals is better than no Nationals.

Look forward to my return next year.

Attention residents of Iowa in general and Knoxville especially, the Knoxville Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff, the Iowa Highway Patrol, merchants of Knoxville and employees of the Knoxville Raceway, one Doug Auld from the right coast will probably arrive sometime and judging by what he wrote about his Knoxville experience one year ago he doesn't like any of you.

I'm flying in from corpus Christi TX and Terry McCarl is gonna lead every lap!!!!
More weight, more regulation, more similarity in the
cars.... that will ensure plenty of thrills for years
to come. Only the most average talent behind the
wheel will be needed with such awesome equipment on
the track!

Going for my first time this year and will be in the pits. Geoff Ensign and I are flying out August 1 from SF or Oakland and getting to Sturgis, SD, where we'll get everything loaded up at the Lemspro shop and make the drive to Oskaloosa for Mon/Tues then Knoxville. Not really sure of the race plans for Oskaloosa (wing or non wing) but he'll definitely be running both places, and definitely the 410 big show at Knoxville. Ron

driving in from Minot ,ND, this is proubly our sixth nationals visit , 14hr drive and worth every click as soon as we smell the first tint of methanol! , great place to visit .great atmosphere ,locals are freindly ,food and competition, rooting for the upset, anybody not even remoltly thought about being a contender, I lean towards the Knox regulars , how much bigger of a celebration is there when a local can top the biggest event of the year ! . were hopefully heading for possibly last two nights of 360's, Sun 410 show, fFront row challenge, and tuesday in Osky also , cant wait !
