The 305 race at Port draws a ton of cars, some from out of state. Friday probably won't draw as many cars. Made no sense to move the date. As mentioned, it doesn't draw a lot of fans and it certainly wouldn't affect the Grove at all.

I don't disagree with anything you said but I think you are overlooking the obvious. The folks that run Port aren't going to want to be at the Blue Collar show when the National is running.

Same here. I want to go to both races. The Blue Collar Classic is always one one my favorite end of year races. I actually wish they would have kept in a 2 day event. By now , it would have been a huge event for the 305's, limited late models ,and 4 cylinders. They may have even been able to add another division or two like the wingless sportsman , sportsman , East Coast 360 USAC or something else.

Now they  will have 51 fans in the stands instead of 50 at the Port for the 305 race.

It is a good thing they pay the 305s so little.  I would never go to a race where the 305s are the headliner and I am not the only one.  I wouldn't pay 15 cents for that show let alone 15.00.

So Port Royal changes the date of their big 305 race "to work with other tracks."

Yet Lincoln has a super late model race scheduled when the WoO is at Port this Saturday.
This whole working with other tracks is so overrated. The 305 race at Port should NEVER have been moved. It's been on the schedule the entire year. Everyone knows why it was changed, but it's wrong. They should run Saturday.

Lincoln doesn't care if they take fans away from Port Royal this week, so Port shouldn't care if fans went to Port instead of WG. The fan base at Port for the 305s is small and would be few if any would be taken away from WG.

I stand by my prior post. It isn't about Port working with Williams Grove. Its about the management at Port not missing the National.

Are you saying the management from Port Royal wants to go watch the National Open as spectators?

Yes. Some of the management team attend Williams Grove on a regular basis. Just because they run the track doesn't mean they aren't fans. They travel outside of the area to places like Knoxville and Eldora to spectate. It's part of the reason why Port is dark those weekends. When management is elsewhere there is no one to run the show so they go dark. It isn't simply about losing a few cars because some local cars are traveling to those shows. The Grove National is the largest 410 race in PA and they are fans too and want to be there.

BINGO....nothing wrong with that. It helps them make improvements to their operation by seeing what other tracks do to run a sucessful program. I wish other promotors would leave the porch and venture out to other tracks to take notes of the Good, Bad & Ugly, it would only help their own facilities.

Not disrespectful at all....just speaking the truth of what many do when it comes to the races.   There will be only a few people in the stands at port when they run this show.....why because it doesn't have the big boys headliner 410 or 360.  I wouldn't pay anything for a 305 race anywhere without the 410's or a big 360 race as the headliner.

Looked like there was about 50 fans in the stands for the SLM's at Lincoln. I think the race was promoted by the Bernheisels(Lazer chasis) and not the Lincoln promotional team. Decent field of cars though and a good 2 division show with the 358's.

Nice to see the local tracks getting along. I'll probably be dead, but I can see one day somebody or someone owning all the central PA tracks.
