Too bad your friend isn't a basketball or baseball player. She would be making tens to hundreds of millions a year and be getting tested twice a day for COVID!!

As an average working class white guy, I wish I was opressed as those guys. Sad.

On a side note a friend in Florida was going to get tested for covid. Waited in line, after giving all of her personal info, for a couple hours. She got tired of waiting and left. Got a letter in the mail 4 days later saying she tested positive for covid. Even tho she never got tested.
|
I believe when you are a no show at a test you receive presumptive positive case. Its considered still a case because
A. You were exposed to -or-
B. You show symptoms of
This would be added into the total number of cases and would drop off as a presumptive recovery as well. They don't have the liberty to assume you as negative for safety reasons. So we all know as 60 million people and counting scramble to get tested the results we get back are flawed. But the testing companies love this. Heck anyone can make a test and sell them for good money and the more positives we show the more need tested so be sure to error on the side of caution. The drug companies have been paid already about half of their expected income. Just watch now how hard they push the vaccine as the government pays them a dollar amout per administratored shot. I will not be in line. This too shall pass. There is nothing new under the sun and I expect this to happen again with the next YUGE sickness to go around.
Also still waiting on that spike from Park Jefferson, Knoxville Woo show, heck I went to Volusia in Feb and look at Florida now. Been to probably 40 some races this year and life is still status quo here in Iowa. Heck, if the news didn't tell me the world was burning I never would have noticed anything different in my life so far this year.

It's just amazing to me that people deny these undeniable numbers
Cases 4,732,418
Deaths 155,942
You may be lucky to not know anyone counted in those numbers but make no mistake, they are REAL numbers. You can believe the deniers if you wish but there is no left wing, commie, Democratic conspiracy here - there's 155,942 DEAD people !
155,942 in 4 months
407,316 in six years of WWII
At the rate we're going, we'll surpass WWII in less than a year.
"The Greatest Generation" sacrificed...did what they had to....didn't walk around blaming a real German or Japanese "conspiracy".
We can't even wear a F......'in mask
|
This thing is serious and many people been sick or died from it. With said anyone who believes it has been the cause of death for 155,942 people is as far out in left field as the consiracy pushers are in right field. There is a differance between dying with it and dying of it.

So if people dont get tested they are considered positive? Like that coroner in Florida a while back said a guy was listed as dying from covid but he did his autopsy and was the result of dui crash.

This endless debate and the lack of distancing and masks I am seeing at the races I'm watching on two PPV channels has me convinced that I did the right thing. When it's over I will venture out again but in the meantime I am enjoying the PPV more than going to the tracks. I got over my urge to inhale spent methanol and quit drinking so there isn't any beer for dirt to get into so no need to attend races. Traveling alone on late night drives is overrated and I like being able to do yard work until dinner time to get my outdoor fix.
The political garbage around this virus and people not being courteous and wearing masks out of respect for fans in the high risk age group is bullshit. PPV is the way to go this year. When I start seeing distancing and masks in the stands I will reconsider.

Interesting. My one visit to Attica, I was staying with a HS friend in Homerville, about an hour East. She's surrounded by Amish.
However, I find the term "muck people" highly offensive

You are a super hypocrite and everyone knows it now. You posted about a "chicanoline" van about a week ago and you don't consider that to be offensive. Typical religious nutjob. Do as I say...Not as I do..

If a person wears a mask and sanitizes regularly and takes care of THEMSELF, then why do I need to wear a mask? Again...if people make the CHOICE to protect themselves from the virus, why does it matter what others do? Can somebody answer that question without copy and pasting a "statistical report" off the internet?

People are making decisions based on their age health condition and understanding of the situation. It would be nice if some of the fans would take it more seriously but they don't so some have opted to sit the season out. That makes the anti maskers the winners in this deal. You can sit in the stands all fat, sassy and happy while you're nuts to butts. There is nothing else to discuss on this subject.

Because masks are for the protection of others. Unless you are wearing something like a perfectly fitted n95respirator masks do not provide the wearer much protection from infection. They do however limit the spread of respiratory droplets coming from the wearer, providing protection to others. Like a surgeon wears a mask when operating on someone to protect the person being operated on, not himself.

Correct and as some doctors explained it, if they are standing facing you and you are both naked and they pee on your leg, then you get piss on your leg. If you are wearing pants but the doctor is not and they pee on your leg you still get piss on your leg, just a heavily reduced amount and the pants absorbed it. If both you are wearing pants and the doctor pees it just gets all over the doctor.
Everyone can take a little responsibility as you do not know where the person sitting around you at the track has been. Could have stopped at the gas station on the way and who knows who was in said station at that time or all day. Someone could have sneezed in their hand touched a surface and that person touched the same surface and they may have through accident not washed/sanitized their hands after. I think a majority of people are trying their best but we are all human and forgetful at times. A little extra precautions really are not that big of a deal.

Before Covid even started, do you remember going to the doctor's office at all and seeing someone sitting there with a mask on in the waiting room? It was because they were asked if they had a cough when they entered, and the receptionist made them put it on. Not for their protection, but so they didn't spread it to others in the office.
I'm blown away by how we think this is some new mind controlling device sent to us by the liberal agenda. It's a mask. They've been used for literally centuries to stop the spread of disease. See photos of Spanish Flu.
So, as has been pointed out to you by others, and has been specified daily by nearly every health care proffesional in the world, they are not for you-----but to help you from spreading to others.

There was a very good article in the New York Times about mask politics during the 1918 flu pandemic. People didnt want to wear them back then either. It also gave anecdotes from various regions around the country as to how some people resisted to wearing masks and what penalties were administered to those who resisted. Hell, a guy even got shot in San Francisco when a dispute turned ugly.
It was very interesting from a historical perspective.

Yea, and you know what, that got me thinking... why do I have to wear a seatbelt if speed limits supposedly work!?! Or conversely, why do I have to go the speed limit if I'm wearing my seatbelt, I should be able to drive as fast as I want to!

Correct. And I'm not going to go into the debate as to whether anyone should be forced to wear one or not. But I will say, this is not an unprecedented situation. Everyone acts like this is the end of the free world. Relax all, this has all been gone through before.

No need to debate this topic Any further. The anti maskers who like crowding shoulder to shoulder in a full grandstand have prevailed. Old people like myself be damned, it sucks to be us, attend at your own risk.
I've got one Memorial race in September that I hate to miss but I will be watching online. It's a shame that they can't designate a section for the high risk fans but that would be wishful thinking. Oh to be 25 and bullet proof (in my own mind) again.

I'm going to Knoxville! Usually wear safety glasses. This time I'm bringing goggles so my mask doesn't fog up the safety glasses. See you there. People thought I was mean before for telling them to get out of my face. Now it's protocol.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

You really don't have to wear your seat belt and you can probably go as fast as you want. I don't care if you kill yourself but keep innocent people out of your path.

Once again... you do not disappoint. Your dr. Story was so funny. I laughed and then I realized it was the first time today as this has been one of the most stressful In mY life. I of course could not pull off rolling that story. It would be so funny for me to even try saying that one. Oh my! But the point was made and you can not forget it.
During this covid thing I have not spent a single day in quarantine. The longest spell I was at home was 48 hours. And that was because I was just plain whooped! I needed to rest. I have been in airports.. hotels... gas stations etc ....etc . In fact, I have eaten out almost every single day. In my journeys .... I have encountered a lot of fear.
I have read your post that people unnecessarily sit by you at the races and that you and your friends joke about it. Well now.... I also have many people gravitate to me that I do not know. Because of my spiritual based core ... I feel that God brought them there for a reason. YOU never know ... what word of knowledge that you might share ... that God wants them to hear. God knows what you know and God knows what they need to know. And yes, I know that you are not really into that religious thing. And I am ok with that. But It makes me sad because an angel of God themselves might take that seat and you will have missed out. Laughing them to scorn with your posse . Just a thought... not a condemnation... just a thought.. You never know when angels cross your path. I think ... I mAy have messed up a few times myself. Actually...I am quite sure of it. A time comes to mind. But hopefully next time I will be perfect.
I will share the story of how bad... I myself was. There was a man parked in front of my house off to the side. It’s a fairly large estate and My house sits down a long lane threw the trees. Previously my home and my neighbors had been robbed and the police dogs trailed them to this very location. Now I approached this man and asked why he was there. With annoyance mind you.... and he said to me. I sit hear every morning before I go to work and pray. Oh my! Now here is a man telling me that he looks over the property that God has Blessed me with and says his prayers starting his day... every day. Now.... Was I nice to this one? No... to my shame I was not. I literally told him in my firmest... no nonsense tone... to move it along. I think I said something like you can pray while your driving like everyone else. I will be taking your license plate number because you are a suspicious person. Oh Boy! Ok I was a little short of perfect that day.

So being that you use "anti maskers" and "old people" separately in your posts about the subject, I have one question for you. How do you explain the, as you call them "old people", crowded all around us at Port on a weekly basis, sans masks???? They don't seem to fit your argument. And believe me, there are quite a few that sit around us, no masks in sight. Soo, just curious as you've clearly labed those of us who attend without a mask, the "anti maskers". How very liberal of you to label all of us that go to the track, by the way. Oh, and I'm double that "bulletproof" age you mention.
