It's a good effort and by no means is a bad looking car, was hoping for something a little cleaner - the topwing sponsor decals just ruin the whole thing for me. I get that it's part of those companies' logos but still just looks bad to me.

Plus I think they've done the Bull before? It's a sharp design, just dislike some minor detalis. Props to them for doing it though.

Well I will say this, you have everybody doing a double take on the top wing sponsor decals, so it's sure a good place place to be now....wink

If that's the case it's awesome! Good old Chucky is one of the greatest coolest drivers that many outside of the upper Midwest have never heard of. Been racing since early seventies and sprints since mid eighties and is still slinging dirt in his purple 101.

I think it will look much better on the track but dammit, I was hoping to see a return of the TMC colors. Oh well, maybe some day.....

I don’t think the split with Sammy and TMC ended well if I remember right? If I remember correctly, it ended up in court!?

As a motorsport race team owner, race team sponsor, racing event sponsor and racing event promoter and producer, I'm amused by the posters on this and the other board I watch (IOW) who share their opinions about which driver(s) should and shouldn't get what ride and what color a car owner should paint and/or vinyl their car(s).

Folks, here just how easy it is to get what you're wishing for and avoid all that frustration and hopefully you'll notice an immediate trend.

If you want Johnny X in an open seat, go to your bank and grab a couple ten thousand bucks, call the car owner and offer him YOUR MONEY in exchange for Johnny X getting the seat.

If you want a car painted and vinyled a certain way for a special event, go to your bank and grab a couple thousand bucks, call the car owner and offer him YOUR MONEY in exchange for putting your color and vinyl scheme on their car.

As a motorsport race team owner, race team sponsor, racing event sponsor and racing event promoter and producer, and someone who was hoping to see some Nationals paint and vinly schemes on this thread can we please stop talking about how much better you think a car would look like w/ one less decal or just a little more red in the blue paint and post some pictures?! Heh, can we?

Eh, get over yourself, that's a nice humble brag there bud. I think everyone knows that if we took our money we could hire whatever driver we want or paint the car whatever we want. Just like any other sport, people will talk about who the qb should be and people will talk about how the new uniforms are ugly and we should wear the throwbacks. I suppose the answer to that is to go to the bank and take out a billion dollars and buy the team? As a team owner, team sponsor, racing event promoter and producer, you should stfu and be happy people are talking about the sport.

Right, but this is not just like any other sport where team owners can make decisions to piss away tons of money just to make their fans happy for short term gratification. I would guess that any of the completly redone wraps for the nationals teams will have anywhere from $5,000-$8,000 tied up in expenses along with another $5,000-$10,000 into shirts, hats, die-casts, etc... Most of the teams that do special paint are putting tens of thousands of dollars for little return on investment so people like you are "talking about the sport" Maybe next time rather than telling a team owner who pipes up to give you their prespective to "STFU" try saying "thank you for fielding a car so I can continue to go to the races"  even if you dont like what they have to say.

I think the majority of the comments on the graphics have been pretty positive Mr. team owner, team race sponsor, racing event sponsor, racing event promoter & producer. (Let me know if I left anything off of your resume)

Gotta appreciate a guy that has done it that long and espically on a limited budget comparitively. I always like the image of him having a cup of coffee and a cig as he wheeled the 101 around the local tracks here in the midwest.

Lol, please tell us what race team and events you “own and sponsor” so I can immediately stop supporting them, if I’ve ever supported them at all.

I suppose you feel the same way about sports teams? Can’t have an opinion on who should coach or play qb or bat cleanup unless you own the team? What a silly post.

It'd be nice to not derail this thread by responding to some guy who effectively has said "don't talk about sprint car racing on a sprint car board".

Wraps cost $5,000 to $8,000???

Wow. Thats one expense that could be whittled down, no?

What would old fashioned paint & some decals cost?

When you are talking about a nationals scheme, yes it likely does cost that much for any team that does it, here is why.

Wrap itself at a typical graphics shop: $700-$900 (depends on what is all wrapped and how intricate it is.)
New Carbon Fiber Body, Maxim: $2700, fiberglass $735
New set of vortex wings: $1000 less powder coat, add $200 for powder
New tail tank $1600-$1900 less paint.

Throw in teams that are getting designs done by Blackbeard for (what I hear) is $1500 just to design the car, it all adds up.
