If cheating means you spend extra time on meticulous details without trying to out engineer everyone, then yes all teams listed above were cheating.

Another thing, is if it doesn't say you cannot do it, then b definition, it is legal to do.

Case in point, it detuning an engine on a slick track to reduce wheel spin.  Some people feel this means traction control.  If you are smart enough to know how to "retard" the timing on an MSD without plugging in a little box, and have a driver whose throttle control can suit it, then you have a tactical advantage.

Lance, while, in my opinion, wasn't as exciting or colorful as some others, has a natural ability to drive a free race car and be patient enough to let things come to him then attack when necessary.

I'll argue day and night that Davey Sr is a better mechanic than Karl Kinser.  Only reason Karl is considered greater is because he was on the road more often than Davey so he was able to be in the headlines more often.

No way would I ever have the balls to drive a sprint car in an actual race.... but I would LOVE to be apprentice to a guy like Davey Brown!

Well said Jake. Right on the money. By the way, you did a hell of a job behind the microphone at Port a couple of weeks ago. Really enjoyed your commentary.

Thank you very much,  I have some things to work, on but its kinda neat going from the kid playing in the infield with the race cars calling those races, to the kid on the track making laps, now to the guy in the booth calling races.

Still planning on getting back on the track before too long, but its nice to see that many people are giving me the opportunity to try other ventures and give back more to the sport as I continue my recovery.

Wanna know what's really funny?? This whole thing started because of some fan doesn't know that race teams are subject to tech after a race. It's really incredible if you think about it. People on twitter talking shit. Krietz having to defend himself on a national radio show. All because a FAN doesn't know shit about racing. That's why sprint car racing will never flourish the way it should. Because fans bitch about stuff when they no idea what they're talking about. And tracks have to listen to them and try to make em happy. When really they shouldn't even be talking about track prep or tech or Chinese chassis. Because they DON'T know. OK let the ripping of turn4guy begin...

Glad to hear you'll be returning to the cockpit and glad to see your recovery is going well. Best of luck my friend!

"That's why sprint car racing will never flourish the way it should"?  Nah, reasons go much deeper than that, like cost of competing & lack of interest in cars by younger generation, etc, etc

All our babbling on HH doesn't change much at all...

& by the way, I'm not "ripping" you , just disagreeing

Might not be fair to paint all fans with the same brush. Aren't you a fan as well? Fans are people and people come in all varieties, good, bad and ugly.

I think it's damn cool to see Davey Brown, Sr. still out there grinding away!!

Don't know Donnie other than when he called a time or two to order gear drive parts and pieces.

Don't know Lance either but well aware of what he's done.

  Good job by all

I understand he has his line up of shocks.  LD shocks, I believe. Anyone have information on what he's doing in that line or is his name on someone else's product ?

Mojo - the untangible, unfair advantage - sorta like cheating

You can have the best stuff - owner, driver, mechanic, parts, but if you ain't got the mojo.......

You can have not the greatest stuff, but if you got the mojo...................

Cases in point:

69K: likely not the very best stuff in Central PA but they got the mojo right now

27 - looking for the mojo

Fred Rahmer/CJB 51 2012 - best stuff,  but someone forgot the mojo. Fred looked so awful for most of the season it was downright sad.

Fred Rahmer/Sell Racing 2013 - best stuff (?), Moon Byers, and lots of mojo including what was lost in 2012

As per a Sunday afternoon round table discussion at EMMR, Lance seems to be rebuiling and revalving PRO shocks for several teams. I'm not sure but he may have a web site?

On a side note. EMMR will be having the annual Gary Wolford Fish Fry this Sunday. Its always a lot of fun, good food, plenty of entertainment, auctions and much more. Always a super event at the Latimore Valley Fairgrounds and Museum, come check out the new addition to the EMMR.

Beezr, great place to go. If people have never had the chance to go. Mark it on your calendar, you won't be disappointed.

The mojo's still working - sounds like Montieth was gone until the mojo kicked-in.

"Average age 69 years" - is that cool or what?

And the 27 might be getting some mojo back.

There was no 69k mojo that caught Monteith. The 21 just had some lousey luck. A lapper spun right in front of him and Monteith just flat drilled him.  He was checked out. He had almost a 5 second lead. Nothing but bad luck there for the 21.
