Last year on July 26, we were sitting at 90 410 entries and 102 360 entries. So we're down a little bit compared to this stage of the game last year.

Final car count last year was 101 410s and 107 360s.

Looking at the field for Wed and Thurs.  Seems to me David Gravel has been handed Wednesday night. Wouldnt be surprised to see him score near perfect.

There's a few on Wednesday that could spoil his plans on doing that!!

If you're qualifying on the same night as Donny Schatz, you haven't been handed anything.

I used to think the same, but the #15 just isnt the same lately. Note: Last year I could easily see that he would be a favorite going in the way he was running. Throw out that dumb Kings Royal format and Donny hasnt really done much coming into this.  10th, 9th, 15th, 12th.....then that anomoly 1st place Kings Royal where he was 16th night before.

Okay I will agree Thursday is way tougher. Not even close.

Thursday notables: Larson, Rico, Sweet, Brown, Macedo, Logan S, Austin McCarl... that's tough right there.
Wednesday notables: Gravel, Schatz, Scelzi, Marks, Reutzel

Pretty sure Saturdays winner will be one of the cars mentioned above. And least likely being the other three on Wednesday that aren't Gravel or Schatz.

I've agreed with this statement for many years. Like I said, didnt surprise me at all last year, and oddly enough, I found myself rooting for him after everything he went through last year. It seemed so fitting he made that run. But...this year feels different. I'd put money on him if he were long odds...just to see...but not much money. Few bucks. This feels like the last game Tom Brady played. He was still decent, but the team and everything else seemed to catch up to him. This feels like that. Like its finally time to end the run. Sure, he can pick off some wins for a few more years if he wants...but it truely to me feels like his days of winning Knoxville are done. I'd bet money he's won his last one. And yes, I realize this is going to be bookmarked and could come back to bite me, but I dont care. Prediction game is only good if you leave it out there forever. #hottakes

Does anyone know the highest entry numbers for each class in history? Are they close yet?

Off the top of my head, I recall that the real Knoxville Nationals had 166 entries one year.

Knoxville Nationals: 166 in 1991

360 Knoxville Nationals: 137 in 2006

The stats pages on Knoxville's website are a treasure trove of this type of information:
