Sadly, the land is worth more for development than as a racetrack. The rumor has been heavily swirling in recent days that the track has either been sold or is in the process of being sold to Copart, a car auction company..

I think the Bloomsburg configuration is too narrow to provide consistently good racing regardless of surface. If you look at Bridgeport, that track is perfect for modifieds and when they get it right for sprints, it's right up there with the best tracks in the US.
Even if Bloomsburg was smooth, I'm not sure it would ever be ideal.

Make it wider and banked higher and it could be a great track. IMO they've created the perefect racetrack at Bridgeport. Bulding a track at Bloomsburg never made any sense to me. We already have enough struggling racetracks without enough race teams and fans to fill them and now we have another track fighting for race dates. Not many teams can support adding more mid week shows to their schedule. A blind man could have seen the proximity to residential neighborhoods was also going to be a problem.
