I am surprised Port did reschedule the Tuscarora 50 to the outlaw race. In my opinion they are losing a high profit night. They went from having two hopefully profitable nights down to one. I think Strawser26 is onto something with maybe the outlaw wasn't drawing as much fan interest as expected.
I myself liked the Tuscarora 50 when it was unsanctioned and a draw race. The last unsanctioned 50 drew 46 cars and what did the All Star sanctioned Saturday night race have 47. Why pay any sanction fee? Put that money in the purse and help the locals that support the track all year.
I feel bad for the locals that it is now even harder to make the race and earn a good payout going into the off season.

Personally, I've always wanted to see the Tuscarora 50 become a WoO show so I'm stoked. As far as the All Star sanction, I think its money well spent. I highly doubt that it would ever be $51,000 to win if it were unsanctioned unless there was big money behind it like the Dirt Classic has with Kasey Kahne. Furthermore, as a fan, I'd much rather see guys like Reutzel, Brian Brown, Macedo, Tim Shaffer, Kemenah, Tim Kaeding, Madsen etc. like we have seen the past couple of years than essentially just another local show with the same teams we see race every week. I have nothing against those guys at all and it's great to have them racing around here every week but I think the 50 is better when there's some top teams from all over the country here to take on our local talent. With a WoO sanction and the All Stars being off that weekend this will likely end up being the most talented field to ever race at Port Royal so I'm excited about it.
