Bell's schedule doesn't work for him, unless he decides to run his qualifying night and then NOT run Saturday, regardless of how he does Wed or Thursday.

As a Midwest guy, I would love to see Dusty Zomer get the ride for Nationals but I doubt it will happen. As for Bell, it could be possible to run the whole show at Nationals. The Xfinity race on that Saturday is in Ohio and starts at 2pm Central, so it is possible to jump on a plane and get to Knoxville in time.

I think Kaeding is already on board with the #3 car of Dave Lunstra.

I would think someone trying g to make it work running their own stuff or limited stuff. I'm hoping for maybe Dale Blaney or Haud or Tim Kaeding maybe.

Are there any 360 guys that are close with the Johnson family? Maybe somebody that the family and team might look at offering the 410 ride to? Regardless of who it would be, man that'd be tough/emotional strapping in. The pressure to make a solid run and make that team proud. I give massive credit for whoever lands in that seat, and wish them the very best. Give that group something to smile about.

Yep (replying to myself), he is already listed in the 3 car. He raced that same Dave Lunstra #3 at the Jackson Nationals in June.

Ok. Nobody saw the tee shirt. Can Sammy do it, I believe so. Will he, I doubt it.

Maybe because the T-Shirt that got linked was from 2015 when Sammy Swindell replaced Jamie Veal while JJ was injured. I'd rather have Clyde Knipp in the car than Swindell.

To clarify, this is a response to the Tweet. Not anything official. The shirt is from a few years ago I believe, as Priority Aviatoin is not on the car this year and it is missing Disolvalloy and Jonestown KOA.

Dissolvalloy and Jonestown KOA were on the car. You can see the Dissolvalloy on the inside part of the wing and the Jonestown KOA is next to the driver underneath Waco Metal.

I stand corrected. Good catch.

Would love to see Jason Meyers in the car......probably hasnt run enough laps to be ultra competitive. It would have to be someone who has experience around Knoxville, and is a good quality racer. The last thing JJR would want to see, and the fans as well, is the car struggling to get out of the C or B Main.
The equipment is definitely good enough with a good driver. The driver would most likely need to do a couple of shows to get used to the car and crew just to be decent at Knoxville. Jamie Veal started the nationals in the top 4 either last year or the year before and has driven for the team before. So he could be a good choice.

Lasoski hasn't retired. He's been unable to put a ride together that fits in with what he wants. Nothing wrong with that. What Sammy's doing isn't eveidently what Danny wants to do. I still believe Danny can get it it done, and I'm quite sure he feels that way, too. What better driver without a ride anywhere in the country would be a better choice for the Nationals? Danny at Knoxville offers up a chance for that team to do well.

You'll never catch my arguing to defend speculation or a personal opinion. I usually peface comments on these kinds of subjects as personal opinion. In this case I don't have a lot of confidence in old guys because I'm an old guy and know what happens as we age. On the other hand I wouldn't put a young unproven driver with future potential in this situation. I'd go with a driver who's neither old or inexperienced. My pick IF it was my decision would be to offer the ride to someone like Jason Meyers who is a proven winner.
But that's just my opinion and I'm just another guy with an opinion or as a previous rely suggested someone who doesn't know anything about racing because of my reluctance to vote Sammy.

Just two and three years ago Lasoski was a real threat to win the Nationals.....2015 and 2016. In 2015 a tire issue caused a problem and in 2016 an engine woe held him back. No excuses were ever made.

Someone mentioned Clint Garner. I think this would be the most solid choice of all the others mentioned. JMO
Sammy most likely is not a threat anymore----even in great equipment (as much as I wish it would happen)
Lasoski has not raced. Same for Meyers.
Knipp would not be in my top 10--maybe he is better than the rides he has had, but I wouldn't use the Nationals as my testing grounds.
All others mentioned have rides lined up.
I would go with Clint.

I wasn't thinking 360 drivers but Clint has that place figured out so that makes sense to me. Two things I know for sure. It's the 41 teams decision and they aren't going to take my opinion into consideration.
