That's the inherent bias of the board. Some folks have been predicting the end of the WoO since the early 2000s.
|
You are wrong, it was 1988 when I first heard of the demise of WOO.

Ref started his "sha, na; na, na, na; hey, hey" crap over ten years ago when the 360's were taking over soon, we have not heard that tune from him for some time now.

As of now the 81 team is waiting to see what happens with points and Florida. I am a school teacher and am unable to go to Florida, so if they make it points it doesn't make sense to start behind the 8 ball when they come back to Ohio.

I've been saying for several years that the ASCOC would have more "regulars" if they didn't go to Florida. Smartest thing they did the last 2 years was make Florida non-points races. I hope Tony keeps it that way!
And I hope to see you back with the tour, Lee!

One point standings and fund for Florida.
Another for the rest of the season makes a lot of sense.

Not a chance, I know it was while he was destroying the All Stars, but it was probably not his idea anyway, and the Florida/Rest of the Season part of it would work.

I have to agree on this one. A points fund would probably get a few more guys to travel down there

Think Tony should have a seperate point fund for Florida races only maybe even include the three Outlaw races last year only a few All Star full time members ran all the Florida races and only some of the Outlaws ran a couple All Star races maybe this would help both series last year the car counts were only around 30 (like stated above maybe this would entice more to travel south)

I was told at PRI that Robert Altman will be driving the 2? Family owned sprinter this year on the all star tour.

Still trying to figure out what a post about All Star regulars and Florida points has to do with Robert Altman posts like that make you look just as foolish as you say his posts are.
Thanks to Lee Jacobs for his reply would be great to hear what some of the other All Stars think.

Sheldon was offered a top notch ride for the WoO but priced himself out of it.
Holtgraver split with the Pete Grove 70.
Crabtrees out of money, cant see them running the whole tour in 17.
Same with Palker, cant see them making the whole tour again.
Looking like they're going to have less full timers in 17 than 16.

With the way Sheldon and team have been running, I'm guessing if you want that combo you're going to have to pay big $$$. And why not? They win. My 2 cents

That sucks for Holtgraver. I thought 5 or 6 years ago that he was going to be one of the up and coming future stars of the sport. I figured his ascent would be right there with Gravel. Gravel is exactly where I thought he'd be and I honestly thought Danny would be right there with him but it seems likes he's had trouble finding a deal that sticks. It's a hard road having to start over with a new team each year. I never met him but he seems like a really good guy and I think he has enormous potential but his luck with rides hasn't been real good.

Not so sure about that. Especially on a short term deal like Florida. Increased purses might draw more cars. Put the proposed points fund money back in to the nightly shows. I think fewer drivers today are interested in points funds. They'd rather have money that thay can use right away to help keep them going.

Danny said on instagram heading into PRI he was hoping to release details about next year "soon", don't know that I've seen anything else.
