Years ago maybe. If anyone else thought the same, he'd have a IRA ride by now. Just like him starting the rumor he was "hoping to take the Rhine Auto ride" at the end of last year, and that was directly out of his mouth. Good job sticking with Ben, they are hitting their stride. Goedens poorly executed MSA slide jobs and chop moves wont cut it in IRA, he'll be on his lid more often than not. He's right where he belongs while coasting to retirement, and i was a pretty big fan of the guy. Wether you want to admit it or not, the IRA has some talent and is getting pretty cut throat. 15-20 cars within 1 second in qualifying. You dont see Madsen or McCarl walk away with anything when they come up either. To hand Goeden the championship this year even hypothetically, is foolish talk. Top ten, but i wont even go top 5.

You can easily see why Balog always wins local IRA shows but has no chance with the WoO's.  Good show.  Schatz wasn't even in the dash.  Started 10th I think.  We weren't even watching him and then all of a sudden there he is on Saldanas ass out of nowhere. Unreal.   Some of those IRA cars are pretty good.  They need to put better drivers in them.  They are around.  For instance, put Donny Goedon in the 14.  Maybe they don't care if they are competitive though.

One of the things that makes the IRA unique is that most of the drivers in the IRA own their own cars. They are race car drivers.... why put someone else in their cars? No matter how good you think they are or aren't. This isn't WOO, this isn't the All Stars and this isn't the King of the West. These guys aren't running these cars for a living. They are doing what they love, win or lose. This is a local 410 club that you should be thankful is running in your backyard on a regular basis. Your statement is like me telling you to move out of your house and let someone live in it that I think is better with house maintenance than you are (while you continue to pay all the bills). If it bothers you that much, pony up the money, build a car, and throw who ever you want in it. Just for the record, I am neither a car owner or driver with the IRA. This is just common sense

Real race cars don't have fenders...

Thank you! Couldn't agree more.

I had a great time as usual.  Even got to hang out with some hoseheads and other Internet friends that I don't see in person often. Great fan turnout. Hopefully next year Reinke and Balog will be there again, they both were strong in the A at this race in recent years. One thing I enjoyed this year a lot was that the cushion was the fast line, even in qualifying. Beaver dam has grown to become one of my favorite tracks, especially when sitting on the backstretch!

This was my first visit to Beaver Dam & I walked away impressed.  It is a nice facility & l liked that you could bring in your own chair to sit on the hill.  Concession lines were not too bad & the beer was cold!  The track held up nicely and was racey.  Schatz put on a clinic on how to manage a race.  He displayed patience early to save his tires and then put on a clinic on getting through lap traffic.  Overall, it was a great night in cheeseland.

Stealth 87 is spot on. We are very fortunate to have a 410 weekly show in the Wisconsin region. The IRA has long and storied history. I wish the series luck and I will continue to support the club as much as possible.  It's getting tougher to run a series each year. As a side note  true to it's Wisconsin heritage   where else can you buy a beer in the pits during  a WOO event?

It was a very good night.  I, too, ran into a bunch of Hoseheads and it makes the experience even better.  Gunner, Stealh87, Larryitis, Egras...........All races were clean, the show ran very quickly and the "A" was spectacular with the front two, three cars all vying for the top spot.  Very good race.  I might make this an every year deal.

Lima for the Brad Doty Classic sells beer in the pits also. Guess they figure a lot of fans buy pit passes also. I don't agree with it but guess the insurance companies sign off on it.

Limaland does not, and never has sold beer! You can bring in your own in maximum 14" coolers and no glass bottles!

July 15th is closing in fast!

Hope to see you at the 27 Annual "Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic presented by Racing Optics"

Tickets available at www.limaland.com. PH. 419.998.3199.

Thanks,

Brad Doty

Brad, don't let the truth get in the way of a good story, lol.  The 'Doty' is one of the best races of the year and amongst the Drivers one of the MOST prestigious to win and we all know why.  Hope it's available on Dirtvision....

The IRA just go about entertaining fans year after year, Mr. Sinclair has always had a lot to do with that, used to love covering their shows back in the day.....
